Hi everyone,

I was just able to secure a quick day trip into the city while visiting family in late November. Since you all seem to be the experts, I thought I'd ask you all if you could only recommend one show this season, what would it be? And before I get all these responses, I've already been in to see Follies :)

Thanks for the help!

It would help if we knew what other shows you've already seen, but I vote for War Horse.

Thanks for the help! To give some examples, the last few shows I've seen are Follies, Anything Goes, Driving Miss Daisy, Good People, Billy Elliot, and A Little Night Music and have enjoyed all of them!

"Warhorse" seems a great matchup for your tastes. "Sleep No More" is another, as long as you don't expect a performance of Macbeth there. These both expertly straddle the line between play and musical performance.

I really loved HOW TO SUCCEED IN BUSINESS... - it's fun, full of energy, great dancing and singing. Also doesn't hurt if you're also a fan of Daniel Radcliffe, John Larroquette or Tammy Blanchard from TV/movies or any of the cast members for their previous theater work. Plus, I really love the Hirschfeld because the theater displays some of Al Hirschfeld's great pen and ink drawings.

Don't know how long the run will last, but I loved Sons of the Prophet. It's a truly brilliant play that I plan to return to and which I highly recommend.

I do think War Horse would be a good pick given your tastes, and How to Succeed.
