I'm a screenwriter / director who's currently working on a stage musical. If my professional title gets any longer business cards will be out of the question.
I'll be interested to see if others pipe in. It was only recently that I realized I'm an old fart on this board at the age of 44.
LOL. Jordan, this is actually my first time being a full-time copy editor, though I've held various other journalism positions before. I've only previously been a copy editor as a fill-in, as a small part of my actual job, or as a volunteer. :) Or on the BWW boards...
"This thread reads like a series of White House memos." — Mister Matt
When I first joined BWW back in the dark ages, I was an undergraduate theater student. I have since gone on to get my MFA and I work pretty regularly at small and mid-sized theaters in and around Chicago.
I grew up in the NYC suburbs going to Broadway shows. I still go back about once or twice a year. In fact, I'm seeing Book of Mormon on Saturday and Master Class on Sunday!
I am an Australian uni student (I study Psychology), and work as a casual supervisor at KFC.
"You can't overrate Bernadette Peters. She is such a genius. There's a moment in "Too Many Mornings" and Bernadette doing 'I wore green the last time' - It's a voice that is just already given up - it is so sorrowful. Tragic. You can see from that moment the show is going to be headed into such dark territory and it hinges on this tiny throwaway moment of the voice." - Ben Brantley (2022)
"Bernadette's whole, stunning performance [as Rose in Gypsy] galvanized the actors capable of letting loose with her. Bernadette's Rose did take its rightful place, but too late, and unseen by too many who should have seen it" Arthur Laurents (2009)
"Sondheim's own favorite star performances? [Bernadette] Peters in ''Sunday in the Park,'' Lansbury in ''Sweeney Todd'' and ''obviously, Ethel was thrilling in 'Gypsy.'' Nytimes, 2000
Graduate Student (Poetry) and Adjunct Professor (English and Theatre Studies).
"You travel alone because other people are only there to remind you how much that hook hurts that we all bit down on. Wait for that one day we can bite free and get back out there in space where we belong, sail back over water, over skies, into space, the hook finally out of our mouths and we wander back out there in space spawning to other planets never to return hurrah to earth and we'll look back and can't even see these lives here anymore. Only the taste of blood to remind us we ever existed. The earth is small. We're gone. We're dead. We're safe."

We must have different Gods. My God said "do to others what you would have them do to you". Your God seems to have said "My Way or the Highway".
Student who studies Political Science who has no trouble finding unpaid internships but a lot of trouble finding a part-time job at a place that's hiring to pay for gas money and college books. Also needs to get crackin' on her screenplay(s).
