I got to see the Bdwy production with Eric Roberts (replaced Malkovich) and Lisa Emery. Splendid work from all. I remember being shocked that it didn't receive a Tony nomination for Best Play that season. Every time I see a production of that play, it holds up well -- at least for me, as I am a huge fan of Mr. Wilson's plays.
I saw the Taper production as well and enjoyed it. Like all of Wilson's works it's a wonderfully crafted play in which every moment counts and the cast here did it justice. We need to have a major Lanford Wilson reassessment and revival.
