And how could I forget the parody of my fave viral video ever.  Yes, it was 4 years late (did someone at SNL just come across the video?) but it managed to not be mean, I felt, and was note perfect...

Premiere is tonite!!!

"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

Oh, man. Hillary's sketch will no doubt go down as one of the all-time great SNL political sketches.

F*cking brilliant.

I'm up to Miley's first song and it's been great. Hill killed. People will inevitably bemoan Miley and SNL in general, but I'm glad it's back and it's off to a fine start.

So true it was almost not funny.

Strong first show to kick off season 41.

Miley's second song though....one word: traumatizing.

"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Sometimes I feel like the cue cards could be in a different place. Hillary did fine but she looked like she was not looking at her scene partner. The opening song was very funny.

Cue card placement is very tricky up there. The sets are a lot smaller then they look like and there are three cameras. There are three sets of cards usually as well. It is an amazing act of contorting around camera angles to keep cards in performer's eye lines and not being caught on camera.

SNAFU, in the first song, Miley was singing to Karen. Do you know who that is?

Miley is the first singer on all of human history to sing a song with a name in it.

But I think Miley put it best when she sang, "But what does it mean?  What does it mean?  What does it mean? Mean? MEAN?".

I am only on the monologue now, but I'm sure somewhere Borstalboy's head exploded when Amy Schumer said the name Hillary Clinton.

I laughed so hard during the monologue I had a coughing skit. I laughed so hard during the flight attendant sketch I almost urinated in my pajama bottoms.  Loved the gin commercial. Loved both Weeknd numbers. Good stuff on Update. Loved the bridal shower.

SNL ISNT FUNNY ANYMORE

I I enjoyed this SNL way more than Trainwreck. Guns!

Surprised to hear Amy recycle some of her standup during the monologue.  Could she not have written new material?
