Overall I thought it was a very strong episode. The SCANDAL sketch made me laugh really hard along with "Ooh Child", the jewelry party and Adam & Eve.

Everyone is aware that "Sutton Ross" used to go by "Sue Storm". Right?

I really hated this episode. You know they have an idea it's going to be a stinker when they bring in all the guest stars like Liam, freakin Josh Hamm and Fred Armisen. The Scandal sketch was kinda funny but that's about it. Lena doing Liza was unbearable. Almost as bad as that Harrison Ford impersonation.

There were times (during the Scandal and rap sketches) where I didn't realize Lena was in them because I thought it was that new generic white girl. THEN during the Katt Williams sketch they had that girl playing Lena so I was even doubly confused.

Bring on LOUIS CK!

Cold opening with Liam best part of a long and painful episode.

Fell asleep before update and woke up after. I should have stayed asleep. Loved the Harrison Ford impersonation

If a person sleeps through a long section of a show they give up the right to comment on it.
It's a little creepy but it would be worse if you knew what you were talking about.

Weekend Update is in need of a major update. The writing is just not funny anymore. And they need to lower the cue cards or the prompter because it looks like the two anchors are eyeing something high up in the balcony section.

One of the new Weekend Update challenges is the fact that two former anchors now have talk shows on the same network and they do 10 shows a week between them that include bits that are very similar to their old Update work. I don't think I heard a single real news-based item that hadn't already been covered by Fallon and Meyers. Although the writers came up with different things for SNL, it's not like it used to be from the Carson era on. Those guys tried to get hipper after SNL came on but now the guys hosting those talk shows ARE SNL.

Gave up @ midnight. The layoff did not help. One of the worst shows in recent memory. The child executive sketch needs to take a shot to the head to end it's misery.

I won't say that's what you said about your "wife", because that would be mean and you wouldn't see it because I'm "blocked".

People who watch 1/3 of a show don't earn the right to call something "one of the worst shows".

I still maintain Weekend Update has been deflated by the fact that two former Weekend Update anchors have 10 hours every week to cover everything in their monologues. WU has been defanged.
It's a little creepy but it would be worse if you knew what you were talking about.

This was a rough episode. I'm really not a Louis CK fan, so that didn't help, but overall I just found the entire thing rough. I did watch the whole thing, though, and still have goodwill towards the show, unlike certain Blocky McBlockersons who continue to watch and always seem to be disappointed and ready for bed ten minutes in (I think the last part is probably cause the show starts past their bed time).

What weird audiences they've had this year. Remeber that hooting lady earlier? And then tonight that bizarro clapping during the cold open.

You're right, PRS. "Rough" is the best way to describe this. Almost felt like they had their interns write the show this week, while the real writers took a week off. Everything pretty much fell flat. I mean, that "Mr. Big Shot" skit? Huh? I did enjoy the 'Dyke & Fats' segment, though. Should have been longer.

Not to mention The Daily Show and Colbert hitting the same material all week, too.

I was going to try and pull strings to see this one live, but think I was right to wait, heh.

Anna Kendrick's opening number was terrific.
"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

LM sketch was great, too. Those costumes and puppets were great. Especially Ursula.

I enjoyed this episode. Anna Kendrick was a good host. I did love her monologue and The Little Mermaid sketch.

It sometimes feels like they are rewriting past sketches though. Like the last sketch reminded me so much of Chris Parnell & Kattan as the DeMarco brothers. You know, change the situation a little, like no dancing, but singing instead and the music guest. And then they did the Peter Pan one that was a lot like one with Katie Holmes.

I really enjoyed this episode. The 'Beauty and the Beast' opening monologue was brilliant and 'The Little Mermaid' sketch was better than the one that Tina Fey did in 2011. Kendrick was a delightful host and I can't wait to see her in 'Into the Woods'.

I want to know where they got that Ursula costume! It was fantastic!

Diva, I believe Wardrobe made the skirt, it was really wonderful! it was a wrap around skirt that attached at the waist to a tight fitting velour evening gown.

Anna was a charming host, but I thought her singing voice sounded thin. Not exactly how I expect a Cinderella in WOODS to sound. But singing the role for a movie is certainly different and less demanding.
