Anna was a charming host, but I thought her singing voice sounded thin. Not exactly how I expect a Cinderella in WOODS to sound. But singing the role for a movie is certainly different and less demanding.

Ijay, considering the routine at SNL, I was surprised she sounded as good as she did! Guest hosts are usually grabbed by the wrist and dragged to the nearest dressing station where a pit team undresses them, rips off replaces their wigs and make up and then the are dragged back to set and plopped onto their mark. It is a real whirlwind after spending two days working around the clock shooting the pretapes, blocking the sketches and working with the writers. I think she will be glorious in Woods.

This was one of my favorite SNLs all season!

Agree that Anna Kendrick killed it.
Thought a bunch of the skits were fun and well done.
I usually delete each episode from my Tivo after I view it. Not this one. I think I'll keep it.

"Diva, I believe Wardrobe made the skirt, it was really wonderful! it was a wrap around skirt that attached at the waist to a tight fitting velour evening gown."

I want it!!!!!

I think last weekend's episode with Andrew Garfield was SNL's best in quite awhile. The Beygency skit is an instant classic, with the most random cross-network cameo I can remember. Leslie Jones's appearance on Weekend Update was edgy but hysterical. The kissing sketch was also funny.

Great episode . Possibly best of season so far.

Loved the bit on Update re Jedidiah dissing the Tony's except for the cringeworthy "Feline" remark. There was a big silence after it from the audience. The point could have been made without the use of the word following feline.

You can't really make a joke about feline AIDS (which is FIV and not HIV) without mentioning the AIDS part.

I'm just catching up on the episode. Easily the best Weekend Update since Seth left. Leslie Jones was hilarious but apparently taking some heat for her bit. "Can't a bitch get a beef bowl?'
It's a little creepy but it would be worse if you knew what you were talking about.

Leslie Jones is indeed catching a ton of heat for her bit, but that woman breathed a whole new life into that show that hasn't been seen in FAR too long. If THAT is who they have writing for the show now, I have faith that it will only get stronger in the coming seasons.
Everyone is aware that "Sutton Ross" used to go by "Sue Storm". Right?

That was a pretty bad episode last night...the only skit I really liked at all was the cat one at the end, mostly because of CHarlize Theron's performance. I'm hoping they're saving the good skits for the season finale next week.

Yeah the sketch sorta sucked but my whale worked! Figured out, designed and built in 34 hours. Got a tremendous reaction during dress and air.

Thing is he never seems to make it beyond Update. Me thinks that is his colostomy bag needs emptying.

I had to back up the exploding whale half a dozen times and we laughed just as hard each time the sucker exploded. Thought it SO funny that guts were flying in from all directions - not just from the whale! What great sports to get covered in all that fake blood. HA

Great Job Snafu!!

Maya!!!!
"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."
