Haven't watched until tonight's episode, but I thought all three Wild Card guys should have gone through, and all three Wild Card girls should have been sent home. I thought they were all horrible.

"Both Kendra and Lauren T had great voices but I don't think they had the stage presence. It's unfortunate that it happens that way but it just does."

The more think about it, you may be right. Ashton had better stage presence than Lauren T. and Kendra. I'm happy Naima made it because life has been easy for her. I also kind of wish Jovany made it.

If Ashton is going to continue her horrible song choices, she won't last long at all. Stage presence does you no good if your performance is a pale imitation of a true diva. I would have made room for Lauren T at the expense of Haley. I'm shocked that the judges didn't include Clint in their wildcard performers. Even with all the talent this season, I can't see anyone but Pia winning this. That said, the Idol voters have been rather fickle in the past, though they did a pretty good job this week.

I'm glad that Naima gets another shot. I think there is something really unique and special about her. She sings with such heart and emotion. While I'm sure she won't be the winner this will be a step toward greater opportunities. She should definitely be singing instead of cleaning toilets and picking up trash.

So- which really grat singer will be the sacrifice this season- you know- the one who gets 4th or 3rd so Ryan can beg for more viewers to vote! Could they have stretched last night any longer? Now that red-headed Brett is gone, who will be the Vote for the Worst candidate? Also, something about country boy Scott annoys me. (my daughter said he looks like one of those sock puppet monkeys) I was also surprised the Rod Stewart imitator got on- I thought he was so weird on stage. Rachel looked like she was doomed from the start of the show. It's amazing how one poor song choice can doom someone. I thought Columbian Julie or Julia would get through- she had all the goods until her final performance.

Will be interesting to see if the judges coddle their three wild cards to keep them around, to justify their presence.

I cannot believe that Ashton Jones' mediocre performance of "And I Am Telling You, I'm Not Going" is a featured video on BroadwayWorld TV.

EVIE, Karen is honestly one of the sweetest, most genuine people I've ever met. Pia's super-nice, too.

Karen had an awful night last night, but Ashton hasn't sung well at all on that stage, so I think she could be going home tonight. Casey, Pia, Naima, Scotty, and Fauxhawk guy all had good nights. Haley and Lauren both disappointed, as did Paul.

Lauren Alaina.... Bad performance, she looked too small for the room and that song, and no breath support.

Casey- ok, he's good- not great, I could see him really improving, but I am so over the "woe is me, I'm not the most attractive man in the world, but I'm a sex symbol damnit!"
His ego is too big for the room. I'm over him.

Ashton Jones: Didn't realy have those low notes, I like her vibrato tones, but that's about it. Nothing Special right now. She blends in with the set.

Paul: I like him, but that performance was way too spastic for a ballad. I can see his joy while singing, though, which makes me happy. boring song, though.

Pia Toscano: Girl can sing! that top note was the slightest bit on the flat side, though. other, than that, I think she is the clear frontrunner of the girls. She was poised, and had great presence.

James Durbin: He was really good. Anyone who wears a cross on American Idol is an automatic annoyance for me, though, and I feel as though he's gonna blow his voice out before the season is done. He can hit those high notes, but not as freely and effortlessly as Lambert did.

Haley Reinhart: She had the yodels down, and it was a great performance for a Karaoke bar in the Bible belt during the first hour. Sort of boring.

Jacob Lusk- The key change was really awkward, however, he got it back. He's amazing, and I want him to record a gospel album right away. He takes me back to church, makes me feel great, and I got shivers.

A note- I don't think it's fair to have a back up chorus for all these singers. They need to be able to prove themselves alone on a stage first, and not rely on other voices to help carry the song. I don't wanna hear the chorus. I want to hear them.

Thia: I was already done with her when she had no idea who Charlie Chaplin was. Her voice was very soothing at the start, and then she tries to open up and really sing, and she can't. She doesnt' have the vocal strength or control to do what she wants to do. Painfully bad performance once the beat kicked in.

Stefano: Love, him. started out a little hesitant and rough, but he sounded great. Reminded me, though, of the disco version of "One Night Only", in the way that he took all the soul out of the song. He's got those high notes solid, though. He's my favorite guy this year.

Karen Rodriguez: I feel like she's good, but she will be compared too much to Pia, and she's gonna lose out. And I hope she runs out of Selena songs to sing to pander to J.Lo soon. The "climax" wasn't the best, I fell like she was on a vocal highwire about to plummet to her death, but it wasn't a trainwreck. Sounded pretty, though.

Scotty - once again, the cross. So I'm already over him. He sounds great, but he's not gonna be able to do anything in this show besides country. Just the sight oh him really annoys me for some reason. And his stupid face. God his face. It's like he injected his eyebrows with redbull. But he's got the midwest and the southern vote, so what do I know?

Naima - She's one of the only interesting ones to watch this year, but vocally she is weak. couldn't really hit the higher notes, she copped out on the highest note out of the bridge to do a dance break. No breath support or control due to the dancing, she's got a lot of work to do. But I would love to see her make it to the end and she's one of the only ones I look forward to seeing.

bottom line - why even have judges this year? Without any dissenting voices, they are all useless. This show is losing the last thread of creditability they had this year. Without criticism, the only thing that is going to grow is the egos of the contestants.

I miss Simon.

Pia was the stand out for me last night. Karen wasn't as good as she was last week, maybe she had a cold? She sounded a bit weak but she's still my fav. Hopefully they both make it to next week.

Yeah, that was honestly the worst I've ever heard Karen sing (and I've heard her sing a lot) but she still sounded decent (just not up to her usual standards) and was definitely not the worst of the night.
Pia was awesome as usual, but I did slightly prefer last week's performance.

Well, America got this one pretty right. Can't argue with the bottom three, and certainly can't argue with sending Ashthon home.

Of course Ashton got sent home- in our family we have a running joke about the high percentages of African Americans who get sent home first on reality shows. I remember a family called the Brown family on Amazing Race that were kicked off first. It happens so often!

I like Karen, but if you were surprised by her presence in the bottom three, you must be both blinded and deafened by your affection for her. I'm glad she made it through, and I hope she picks up her level next week. Can't see her winning this (she'll always pale in comparison to Pia), but she deserves to make the top 10 and be on tour.

Not at all, I just thought there were performances much, much more deserving of being in the bottom 3.
