"The longer they wait to release the first trailer, the more intrigued and engaged their core audience becomes - us. For everyone else, they'll splash it all out there in a small window of time, get all of the actors circulating, and it becomes an event that Mass-America didn't see coming. Smart marketing, IMHO."

Exactly. The Disney people know EXACTLY what they are doing.

With Maleficent and Cinderella being marketed heavily right now, it would be a mistake to release a teaser trailer. It would get lost (or confused) in the shuffle.

I would guess early fall.

I think we're expecting it so soon since principal photography finished last year and they've been in post for quite a while now, when les Mis hadn't even finished shooting and they had a teaser out there in time for summer. But if I remember correctly, we didn't get a Sweeney Todd trailer til October-ish. Granted I hope we don't have to wait THAT long, but hopefully we'll get some stuff soon, a poster maybe?

Yes! Was thinking about that recently. We waited a very long time for the Sweeney trailer.

That's why I'm starting to think that the rumors of the $40 million budget are true. 'Cinderella' has a higher budget and the marketing is more important for that film right now.

In other news, the film will now some more family-friendly competition this Christmas. The movie 'Paddington' is now going to open that same day. We'll see what happens then.
