Does anyone know when Pittsburgh is going to announce? I feel like by this time last year we knew when the announcement date would be (it was March 28 if memory serves).

The Hamilton Angelica Company plays the following cities from its launch in 2 weeks through September of 2018:

San Francisco

Los Angeles

San Diego

Tempe

Denver

St Louis

Houston

Atlanta

Washington, DC

If the Tour gets announced for any other markets between now and 9/2018, then it is either another tour company launching, or the Chicago Company closing before its 2-year planned stay to start touring.

Interesting... I would have predicted that Atlanta would have gotten OYF in its first season.

The Chicago sit down (Eliza Company) of Hamilton is not a touring company, that's an install production that will not move- a duplicate of the NY setup.  It's been known for some time that there will be two simultaneous US road companies of Hamilton in addition to Chicago.  The SF/LA company (Angelica Company) becomes the first tour, and then the 2nd tour (Philip Company) that launches at the Paramount in Seattle late this year/early 2018.  The first tour has some extra elements in San Francisco and LA, like the deck build-out over the pit, additional lighting, additional sound that will not be part of the touring package.  I believe that extra stuff will be used in Boston, Philadelphia and DC for the extra long stops.  I've heard both tours will travel all musicians and not use local pick-ups.

edit: I should add that Mirvish in Toronto is planning a Canadian production for (I think) the Royal Alexandra Theatre in 2018, though if it ended up at another theater with more seats I wouldn't be surprised.

Strange, LND dates overlap with their Orlando dates, Nov 26 - 31

Edit: My bad, I read the dates wrong. Orlando is Nov 21 - 26

I was going to say Orlando must have made a huge mistake since there is no November 31.

Is Gentleman's Guide a 2nd National Tour or is it a non-equity production? Thought I saw that the current tour had only a few stops left before it closed.

I thought the GENTLEMEN'S GUIDE tour was also closing this year.

A Chorus Line played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013.

In the past they've announced co-produced shows together but that might have hurt attendance or caused problems for those who are dual subscribers. I can't imagine anyone being upset with more Hamilton tix but who knows."

And you were right! I still think its weird that they waited to announce a show that was already coming.

Worcester's Hanover Theatre just announced its Broadway series:

Christmas Story

Cabaret

Jersey Boys

Rent 20th anniversary

Something Rotten

Bright Star

mystery show announced in April

I was surprised at Bright Star since it seems to have skipped Boston and Providence which usually get shows a season before the Hanover

How do you know Bright Star skipped Boston if they haven't announced yet?  Also, this past season many shows went to Boch (Wang) Center instead of the Opera House so could end up there, however the Theater seems larger so unlikely for Bright Star.

I guess it's sort of a leap but I haven't seen any Broadway shows come to Worcester the same season they do Boston. I think they had some clause that they couldn't announce shows for a competing market which makes me guess that the last show might be Curious incident of dog in nighttime. I've already seen Bright Star on Broadway but still feel a bit of regional pride that it'll be close to me so more people will come to my neck of woods.

Could it possibly be Spring Awakening? I know many thought it might return to LA.

Louisville Announced their new season today:

FINDING NEVERLAND October 24 - 29, 2017

DR. SEUSS' HOW THE GRINCH STOLE CHRISTMAS THE MUSICAL! November 28 - December 3, 2017

CHICAGO January 23 - 28, 2018

RENT: 20TH ANNIVERSARY TOUR February 16 - 17, 2018 (Season Option)

SCHOOL OF ROCK THE MUSICAL March 13 - 18, 2018

LES MISERABLES April 10 - 15, 2018 (Season Option)

WAITRESS June 26 - July 1, 2018

Really hoping Nashville, Indianapolis, or Dayton get Bright Star and/or The Color Purple. Either way, for Louisville, this season is a pretty big win for us. Getting three national tours in their first year out (Les Mis, School of Rock, and Waitress) is kind of unheard of around here.

In an answer to an earlier question, Jersey Boys may be going non-eq. I'm not positive, but I know of at least one engagement that doesn't usually support AEA tours is in discussion.

Based on the information you provided, it seems like an extraordinary leap to suggest that the tour may be closing and reopening as a non-union show.

I'll cop to that. Like I said, I'm not sure. I just know that the location can't financially support many equity shows. That being said, apparently the show is still going to be expensive, so they may just be changing to split weeks.
