There are warning signs that the country could want a change in direction. Americans who are worried about the economy, political gridlock and terrorism think the country is going in the wrong by a rate of 70 to 25.

Before this year, the last time more than half of the electorate gave Obama gave him such high marks was in 2009, after he was first elected to the White House on a message of hope and change.

Obama’s approval rating slumped to 40 percent before the 2014 midterm elections, when candidates did not want to appear on the campaign trail with him, but his numbers have improved since caucuses and primaries for the 2016 presidential race got under way at the beginning of this year.

Both DJT and a superPAC supporting him are running ads here.  The DJT ad is a weak effort where the narrator spends the latter half of it speaking a series of platitudes, like bullet points disconnected from each other.  Something like "Create jobs. Fight crime. Move forward."  The attack ad is so over the top, comparing HRC to Nixon and ending with Nixon's statement about the public being entitled to know if their president is a crook.  I'm sure it plays well to his base but with all the news about DJT's shady dealings this week, it just as likely reminds everyone else who the real crook here is.

eta: Just saw another DJT ad, featuring Ivanka and talking about his plans to "help working mothers."  This is a Missouri station.

Anyone who's listened to the audio or read the transcript knows the above is very misleading! If anything, she was sympathetic toward the so-called Berniebros, and she said she spans between the center left, to the center right.

To be clear, she did have a moment or two in that speech where she came off a touch condescending. 

But you're right, overall she was sympathetic and I like that she said this:

"They’re children of the Great Recession. And they are living in their parents’ basement," she said. "They feel they got their education and the jobs that are available to them are not at all what they envisioned for themselves. And they don’t see much of a future."

Clinton said the idea of a "political revolution is pretty appealing," if you feel you're on a path to low-wage jobs with little opportunity for advancement.

"I think we all should be really understanding of that," Clinton said.

I look forward to those with the meat to change minds.  The tax thing is fun but a surprise to exactly no one.  Trump supporters have already bought into the "paying no taxes is good business" narrative.  We need a surprise with the weight to sway the undecideds in swing states away from the dark side.  Maybe a sex tape with a French Poodle because everyone is always mad at the French.  

The Miss Universe thing, which should of had a life of about 3 minutes during the debate, has certainly had legs thanks to Donald's inability to leave it alone.  The guy continues to be his own worst enemy.  How can he possibly believe that attacking a Latina Miss Universe for her weight is going to endear him with the illusive suburban mom and Hispanic coalitions?  What a buffoon.

Yeah, I know he is running for president but it seems I have heard of them shutting people's accounts down for tweeting nasty things about other people.  But I guess twitter is loving every minute of it. It really takes a lot to get banned from Twitter. It took Milo Yiannopolous literally directing thousands of people to bombard Leslie Jones with hateful garbage to get him banned.

The narrative in this latest revelation isn't just that he hasn't been paying anything in federal taxes.  It's also that the "great" business man lost almost one billion dollars in one year, using bankruptcy laws to stiff small businesses and causing people to lose their jobs, and then paid nothing in federal taxes for years and years. He can't fall back on the "because I'm smart" response when the whole thing rests on his being a total, abject failure at business.  

This should have legs through the VP debate on Tuesday, and that's good..  Unfortunately, it seems there is another leak from you-know-who supposedly coming on Wednesday, which will probably be "Squirrel!" for the MSM after that.
