I believe the only $37 orchestra seats available are through the daily lottery.

Saw Rannells for the first time on Saturday at the 10PM show. We had seen NPH twice, one early Saturday, one 10PM. We had 8PM tix to Lady Day (amazing) and did the math and figured we could make it in time for Hedwig. $99 BroadwayBox code got us A6 + A8 in the Mezz, and by leaving Lady Day as soon as the final note was played got us to the Belasco with 5 minutes to spare.

What we could see of the Orchestra was full. Mezz was maybe 40% full. First two rows of the sides was mostly taken, about 3/4 of the center Mezz was full. Couldn't see the balcony.

Noticed immediately that the bass player had changed. Younger guy with longer hair than the green-haired bassist we had seen before. No change in quality of the band, though.

We thought Andrew was better at the poignant parts of the show and was a better singer, NPH was better at the comedy bits. Did not notice any ad libs by Andrew. Wish they had changed the Kathy Griffith line -- there's no "historical reason" to keep that joke in when it easily could be replaced.

Andrew did not come back as the bishop at the end, is this a permanent change or just Saturday? They did do the regular back and forth with the box.

Kathy Griffin played the Belasco, if that's the history you're looking for.

I know that. I just thought they could come up with a different joke.

Frankie and Johnnie lends itself well, for instance.

To my knowledge, that costume NPH wore at the top of the curtain call was not meant to be the bishop (Belasco). It's meant as a tongue-in-cheek homage to Rylance's costume in "Twelfth Night".

I can see that. And did see him do so twice, but Rannells didn't. FWIW which isn't much.

Matt (the green haired bassist) is still a member of Tits of Clay so maybe he was sick and had someone stand in?

I really hope word of mouth really brings more people in to see Andrew, this is the way Hedwig is REALLY meant to be portrayed. NPH did an amazing job but this Hedwig is the perfect balance of poignant and comedy. As someone previously mentioned, you really can hear a pin drop in the theatre during the emotional moments and emotional pauses. Andrew really has the talent of pulling you in and making you FEEL for that character.
