Hedwig Orchestra Seats are $400 now?

Well, now I want to see Ezra Miller as Hedwig (even if he is too young.)

That's kind of the opposite of what happened. Premium seating exists because theater got tired of selling everyone regular priced tickets and then seeing people selling them for 2-4x more on eBay/StubHub, etc. So, they figured if anyone should get to sell the seats for more based on demand, why not them?

Now, a case could be made that paperless ticketing or some other option could have removed the scalping angle, but now that the genie is out of the bottle, and producers are seeing that money, forget it.

I know, right? I want to see him in everything. He does have a band that plays around NYC, Sons of an Illustrious Father, if you ever get to see them. I haven't gone yet.

I mean, I'd love to see a filmed version of this production, but if I ran New Line (who made the first movie) and possibly controlled the audio-visual rights, I'm not sure I'd be in such a rush to let them do it. Could be argued, but I don't think it's a slam dunk if these rights aren't currently controlled by the authors.

Unfortunately she's not a big enough name to fill a Broadway theatre night after night but Lady Rizo would make a stunning Hedwig I reckon. Not that it really matters but she even looks a bit like JCM did in the role.

I had a dream the other night that Lee Pace was announced as the replacement for Hedwig. I assumed it was real for hours until I went to look for it.

I wonder if it was filmed for the archives or not. I know JCM's Stage version was professionally filmed for archival purposes- i have a copy, it's a fascinating watch.

A quick question for you guys that have done SRO...

I'm going down with my best friend in a few weeks and we are going to do it. I'm planning on getting in line around 6AM. Is it alright if we take turns waiting in line as long as we only buy 2 tickets and not 4? I didn't have an issue doing this with Book of Mormon when I did SRO for that show, so I just wanted to make sure.

n2nbaby- has it really gotten that crazy because of the Tonys? 6:00am? My fiance and I did SRO about a week ago - we got there at 8:30am and were first in line. Since we were only after 2 tickets, we switched out throughout the day, and no one had a problem with it. That day the next person in line showed up around 10:00am and then no one else until 3:00pm. 18 SRO tickets were sold, so many who showed up after 4 got tickets that day. We were feeling a little silly for being there all day unnecessarily, but then we totally lucked out when two seats were empty in the front row and Hedwig called us out of standing room in the middle of the show to sit in the front row. So all day paid off for us!!! Have fun!

We were there on Tony day for SRO tickets. Got there EARLY and by 9 10 am was when the last people who got tickets arrived. So I am not sure what to tell you. Better safe than sorry.

That is what I was thinking. I read on here on here people saying that people will probably start lining up at 6AM now, which is fine. I just wanted to make sure that us switching out throughout the day would be alright. :)

Yep, was there on Tony day as well--- got there @ 8:40, and there were 9 ppl ahead of me--- I am thinking no later than 6am right now

You do have to consider that the Sunday matinee at 3pm is five hours earlier than a regular 8pm evening performance, so 6am might be overkill. That's going to end up being a 12+ hour wait.

I am a HUGE Rufus Wainwright fan but omg no. He would be a terrible Hedwig. His voice is in no way suitable for those songs, and just thinking about him trying to attempt a German accent is going to haunt me for the rest of the day. He can kind of act...when he's playing someone very close to himself. But no.
