At this point, most anything you hear about what's next at LCT is conjecture. The Beaumont was closed for almost one year prior to The King and I, and there's no reason to think it won't happen again

Isn't to kill a mockingbird being directed by Bart? so it sort of makes sense to be going to LCT

It is being directed by Bart Sher, but it is being produced by Scott Rudin.

Begin at the beginning and go on till you come to the end: then stop.

If that's really the case, it will be Rudin's first time at LCT.

and just because its a Lincoln Center production doesn't mean it automatically goes into the Beaumont.

I should have correctly posted, that it would be the first time one of his productions played in an LCT House. As in the Beaumont.

So we have:

vacant for the fall/winter

Vivian Beaumont

The Cort

The Music Box

The Nederlander (Motown limited until November)

vacant for the spring '17

Walter Kerr (Falsettos limited though January)

The Lyceum (Oh, Hello limited through January)

theaters POSSIBLY vacant in the spring '17

The Broadway Theater (currently Fiddler on the Roof) (-> several times mentioned for Miss Saigon)

Al Hirschfeld (Kinky Boots)

Bernard Jacobs (Color Purple)

Longacre (Bronx Tale)

St. James (Something Rotten; Frozen from spring '12016-2017 Season

August Wilson (Jersey Boys)

Imperial (Great Comet)

Circle In The Square (In Transit)

I'm leaving the Palace off the list because it will probably start its renovations after American in Paris closes, I assume. All other theater have shows announced. As of right now, I don't think Waitress, School Of Rock, On Your Feet and any of the other long-running shows are going anywhere. And all of the shows opening in the spring that fail will likely not vacate a theater fast enough for another show to jump in before the Tony deadline.

Shows looking for theaters in the 16/17 season:

Singin' in the rain (Spring '17)

Amelie (Spring '17)

Miss Saigon (Spring '17 -> several times mentioned for the Broadway)

Come From Away

The Bandstand

Photograph 51 (P)

Significant Other (P) (a Shubert Theatre tba)

Smokey Joes Cafe

Spongebob

War Paint (Spring '17)

Gotta Dance

If I made any mistakes, or if I missed anything, please point it out. I consciously included speculation in the list.

The St. James is definitely beginning their renovation whenever Something Rotten departs.  I read they're starting preliminary work this summer.

How many of these '16 spring arrivals were even on the Broadway radar this time last year? Disaster; The Humans; Tuck Everlasting; Blackbird; Hughie; Eclipsed; American Psycho; Shuffle Along; Fully Committed; Waitress; The Crucible.  Maybe Tuck, Waitress and Psycho, but only as a regional production or possible London import

Yea, I'd say so too. Of course there might always be a show that comes out of nowhere, or that was aiming for the next season, but then gets a theater and moves its schedule up. I don't the list I made of shows looking for theater is complete. It's the ones we know about right now. And some of them might push back another year or their Broadway ambitions might fall through altogether. You never know until they have a theater and dates announced and even then things can still go wrong...

Shuffle was on the radar this time last year I believe.

Great Comet will definitely be open in the Spring and a Jersey Boys closing announcement this season would be shocking - although hasn't everyone seen this by now..

buhbuhbilly, if you're going to continue to insist on talking about how Comet is going to be a hit in multiple threads, you might want to take your personal info out of your profile that says you're a part of the production.

I do believe he's referring to the website listed in your profile, which includes a "News" page announcing that you'll be making your Broadway debut later this fall in COMET: http://www.billyjoekiessling.com/#!news/c5b5. No one suggested you don't have a right to state an opinion but I do think transparency, to determine if there's a clear conflict of interest or not, is a more than reasonable expectation.

I included Comet because while I don't necessarily think (or hope!) it will come and go quickly there is no guarantee it will remain open. See Shuffle Along. Groban could leave after a few months for whatever reason and interest in the show could fizzle away quickly. You just never know.

I included Jersey Boys (and Kinky Boots) because out of the long-running ones their numbers are the lowest recently and many people have been wondering how much longer they are gonna last. They sure could be open for another year (or two) but probably not forever.

I definitely see and acknowledge your point - also the Beaumont is going to remain vacant for the Fall but will be occupied by the Spring, if anyone is wondering about that theater (my friend works in the LCT special events department and confirmed this with me but would not tell me what).

It's been rumored here by a couple of posters. To the best of my knowledge, there's no truth to it
