What if they went non-traditional for Belle? Who would you cast then? However, I can already hear Laura singing "A Change in Me".

Oh yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes!!!!!!

"A couple of new details here. You might be wondering, since the original report doesn't mention any story details, how exactly this thing is going to play out. Sources tell HitFix that Condon won't only be drawing from the 1991 Disney film. In his pitch to the studio, the director said he would also include most, if not all, of the Menken/Rice songs from the Broadway musical that ran for 13 years from 1994 to 2007. It will be a "straight-forward, live action, large-budget movie musical," we're told."

'Twilight' director Bill Condon will translate Disney's 'Beauty and the Beast' to live action (UPDATED)

Matt Bomer for Gaston

I know this is an obvious choice, but Hugh Jackman still looks great at age 45. I vote for him to play Gaston. It can still work especially if Donny Osmond got to play the role at age 48 on Broadway.

Matt Bomer is too skinny as he is at the moment for Gaston (ripped yes but gaston is big, has to be really to make the battle with beast more evn)

Surely Hugh would be a better Beast?

Wasnt Emma Watson rumoured for this?

Well Jackman has played Gaston in the past. I still want Angela Lansbury to be Mrs. Potts (but that's wishful thinking). Could Totally see Laura Osnes as Belle. could also see Ramin as Beast

Is Madonna too old to play Belle?
Everyone is aware that "Sutton Ross" used to go by "Sue Storm". Right?

If it is actually based on the musical, which I doubt, I can't see how anyone other than Josh Gad could be cast as LeFou.

I wish James Marsden was more of a name. He'd be a terrific Gaston.

Anna Kendrick has spoken about her desire to take a break from doing musicals after PITCH PERFECT 2. She's already playing a princess in Disney's INTO THE WOODS. Then again, I'm sure Belle is a dream role for a lot of actresses of her generation.
You know Lea Michele is already finding dirt on Condon so she can blackmail him to get the lead.
"Some people can thrive and bloom living life in a living room, that's perfect for some people of one hundred and five. But I at least gotta try, when I think of all the sights that I gotta see, all the places I gotta play, all the things that I gotta be at"
