Lea Michele |
Whatever did happen to Murphy's plan to do a revival of 'Funny Girl'? Was Lea Michele actually going to star ?
I would love to hear some of your personal encounters with her
Quite delicious to see you first supported La Michele now you're intentionally stirring the pot. True colors showing brightly. Love this.

" I still FULLY support her I just want to hear these encounters that make her so intolerable since he's the only person on this board who seems to know her personally . As this post is about me wanting to know why people (such as you) who don't know her seem to hate her so much ..... but if continuing a conversation is stirring the pot ... I guess

" she did an interview on BRAVO saying he still has the rights but he hasn't moved forward with it
Murphy might still have the rights, but nobody wants to work with her. That's why it never materialized with her in the first place. And she's gonna need a hell of a lot more than Daddy Ryan's money to get that mounted.
As for me - I've had to deal with her. People here can vouch for me. And to quote Forrest Gump - That's all I have to say about that.

Considering some of the other Glee actors' issues, I'm sure Lea being a diva was the least of Ryan Murphy's worries. That's not a defense. But putting up with assholes at work is an unfortunate everyday reality. It'll be interesting to see how her work is away from the Murphy camp.

Sweetie, Lea is far from being a Broadway lady. She's only appeared in 2 shows. Audra, Sutton, Jessie, Patti - THOSE are Broadway ladies. Lea is not.
"
Lea has appeared in 4 shows (Les Miz, Ragtime, Fiddler revival, and Spring Awakening). Regardless of whether that makes her a "Broadway lady," she has been working semi-consistently since she was a child.
I have no problem with Lea, think she is very talented, and would not be turned off by her appearing in a show. I think she has a gorgeous voice, and I think she is very skilled in comedy. Her role in Scream Queens was excellent (though I know many people hated that show- I found it darkly hilarious). She is a little over the top when it comes to drama sometimes, but given the right material, I find nothing wrong with her performances.

you should know that best friends actually don't have to have the same personality. i'm effervescent and outgoing and my best friend is more demure and softspoken. frequently opposites attract!
Lea Michele isn't without talent: She's simply without a trusted gay next to her, telling her 'no, girl... no.'
Her GLEE days all sounded the same. Same vocal ticks. Same overwrought wailing. Same scooping. Same tired vocal technique.
Her TONY performance was an act against God.
Whatever she's done since has flopped hard. She's the former it-girl, like so many other girls who came (and went) before her.
Lea Michele is the Valerie Cherish of the musical theater world.
She doesn't swoop.
Anyway, I've heard rumors about her behavior and it seems to me they are just that with the exception of Naya Rivera's claims which seem to be authentic since the fact that they didn't get along has been confirmed by Ryan Murphy, although both he and Nivera say it was blown out of proportion in the media.

Yes. You're right of course. It's still always surprises me. But I'm glad to see it.
It's a real shame that she's known for being a dick. Obviously none of us know what she's really like, say a select few who have worked with her, but I there's definitely no smoke without fire.
Her voice is incredible but it is limited, as people have said. She's not conventionally beautiful so people are able to relate to her so she really could have been huge if she'd played her cards right, not quite Streisand but something along those lines - but her reputation is so damaged that she's definitely on her way out.
Aside from the awful reputation I think Lea Michele and Samantha Barks are in a similar point of their careers. Barks had a taste of Hollywood and focused on that for too long by churning out flop after flop rather than sticking to what she's good at and being an A-Lister in that field. Now that Barks has returned to theatre she's no longer the name she originally was when Les Mis first came out - I think Michele is in the same boat. Too much time spent too long trying to be a name in TV that she's no longer relevant in either field.
She's destined to be a supporting role in sitcoms and be a replacement lead in some long-running musical to slightly boost ticket sales during a dry period.

Why in the world do people want to see Lea Michelle as Fanny Brice? She might have the right voice for it but it's all in the title... can she make people laugh? Slapstick and kitschy performances (the best parts of Funny Girl) are definitely not in her wheelhouse.

Incorrect.
There's something a little... less than ideal about anonymous posters asserting that they've had bad experiences with a certain performer without providing any details. That being said, I understand that they might get in serious trouble if they provide more information, and I want to hear as much gossip as possible, so I recognize that I'm part of the problem!
Aside from LM, has any of the other GLEE cast members (students, not Lynch or Morrison) gone on to bigger and better things since the show ended in 2015? It seems like all their careers have 'stalled' a bit, and some made infamous headlines...

Amber Riley, Melissa Benoist and Darren Criss probably have the best post show careers

Chris Colfer has seen decent success as an author and Laura Dreyfuss is in the Best Musical of the year.
Blake Jenner has done well in indie movies: Everybody wants some and Edge of Seventeen.
Harry Shum is doing well for himself too in martial arts movies and tv shows.
Amber Riley is starring as Effie in Dreamgirls on the West End and won a Olivier award, Laura Dreyfuss is now in Dear Evan Hansen, Chris Colfer is a best selling author, Melissa Benoist is starring in Supergirl, and Jenna Ushkowitz was in Waitress for a couple months.
Lea Michele keeps checking her Instagram to see if Ryan Murphy has read her DM from 5 months ago. Nope.

I didn't say the rumors weren't true, but as far as I know, there is no evidence that supports them the way that evidence does support the Naya/Lea feud . If you or anybody else know of any, please let me and everyone else on this thread know because the lack of it is frustrating. I get the idea that some users might not be able to talk, but if there is any proof of her behavior besides just the tabloid stuff, there needs to be some elaboration at some point.
