Bandstand Rush Reports |
SBowden said: "I plan on getting in line for Comet sometime around 4AM..."
Omg that's so early - maybe too early? I saw about 8-10 people in line at Comet when I rushed for Bandstand on a Saturday matinee at 7:45 AM. I guess if you want to be first in line, then by all means haha :P
Thanks to everyone for the input so far!
From the looks of this thread, on a two show day, arriving by 7am wouldn't hurt. And the front row mezz seats are the ones to go for? If anyone else has has thoughts, I'd appreciate it. Going to rush on Wednesday morning. :)
I've seen the show twice, once from 5th row left orchestra only two seats from the center aisle, and the other from the front row center mezzanine. If you like being very up close and personal with the performers, take the close-in orchestra seats. If you're very close to the stage you may have to incline your head up a bit, since the stage will be a little above you. The first three rows of the mezzanine, which they call the Grand Tier or something like that, are excellent seats, even on the sides.

What day of the week do you want to attend and what number in line would you like to be?

I'm curious about what the Sunday rush has looked like since the box office opens later. Does anyone have a recent Sunday rush update?
I just rushed - arrived at the theater at 12:30 and was offered partial view for $39, front mezz for $49, and orchestra for $59. I chose the $49 and got C22 in the mezz which should be good.
At 8:30am on Wednesday (2 show day) there were 3 people in line. 9 in line at 9:30.
I rushed today (Thursday, 7/20) and got there at about 8:30 and was 8th in line. We were given the choice of $35 partial view boxes, $49 side of the mezzanine, and $59 side of the first few rows of the orchastra. I went with the boxes, I would've liked to get the orchestra but $35 is just too good to pass up. There were about 20 people by 9:30, not sure about after that.
I rushed on Wednesday, and went over after my Comet matinee, and was offered the last row over in the front row of the mezzanine for $35.

Did you mean last SEAT ( far-wall aisle ) in the front row Mezz?
We rushed on Saturday, 7/22 for the evening show. We arrived about 8:40 and were 18th in line. We were given the choice of $35 partial view boxes, $49 side of the mezzanine, and $59 orchestra. We opted for the box and were in the back of the highest box house left. Laura Osnes was not performing and chatter in the line sounded like many people were friends of the understudy, so line seemed to be longer than other recent reports on this board. The line was about 40 people long at 9:30 and like close to 60 by the time the box office opened at 10. Come From Away is next door and the 2 lines ran into one another at one point, so there was confusion over which line was which beginning around 9.
I just rushed it yesterday, Sunday, July 30. I got there at 7:55 and was the first one there. The next person arrived at 8:30 and the total number of people in line was about 15-20. I was offered $35 box seats or $49 mezzanine seats. I got Box A. Everyone in line got tickets and there were no understudies.

Lonely, unless it were a Sunday.

What prevents you from arriving earlier?
Train tickets are oddly very expensive and the bus tickets that will get me there are time or either 4:30am departure or a $55 Uber drive away
Got a $35 box seat an hour and a half before curtain on Wednesday. And the $49 mezz tickets will probably be available every day until curtain. So I wouldn't worry.
The box seats were fine, missed just the bar on the side, but didn't matter much. And moved to 3rd row center mezz at intermission.
I went last night at about 5 minutes til doors and they still had orch rush left, but no mezz. Got row N seat 21, which was a great view, all I missed was the bar and nothing really happens there. Also half the row was empty so I slid over during intermission.
