I wish they added the thin black border and put the theatre name up in the corner.

I'm not really sure how I feel about the new design. Some of them look neat, depending on the color scheme or image, but as a whole I don't think I like them. The white border kinda balanced everything out nicely for me. It'll take some getting used to.

Maybe we will see more beginning tomorrow? Do PThespian and any other members here who work FOH have any info on this seemingly sudden change?

I'm not sure why they made the change, but School of Rock both adapted it and changed the image on it.

Fully Committed has stayed the same too. Further supports my suspicion that they didn't do it for the designs that have white backgrounds.

No, I'm with you. I think it should be chosen selectively so the art matches. I don't like it with the flashier, more modern designs like Kinky Boots, On Your Feet, and Aladdin. But it looks pretty good with Beautiful, Hamilton, and The Lion King, especially since the latter two have so much yellow/gold in their artwork anyway.

I'm curious about how the new An American in Paris and Waitress Playbills will look.

Chicago is confusing. Why did they have an airplane theme again? It has nothing to do with the show.

I thought the same thing and it cracks me up so hard. It's like making the playbill for Wicked a picture of Elphaba rowing a boat. It's comically senseless.

I love these. I saw Blackbird, the Humans, and the Crucible in the same weekend and have loved the design since. Not crazy about using the logos. I hope all shows use a great still from their production with a simple title font (a la Beautiful).

Love, love, love this. Hope they user in a new (old?) era of Playbills.

"I know what a show-stopping song is. I know what you get a Tony for. Neither of those songs were it. And Sheryl Lee Ralph didn't even get nominated. Even with the new material. You know as an artist when somebody's giving you material that will stop a show. Give me the material. I know how to stop a show." - Tonya Pinkins Blocked: mjohnson2, Sue Storm (Sutton Ross), Fantod
