The horrified reactions of, oh about 1/4 of the posters on many TV show geeky forums to the gay kiss is hilarious to read. (Especially comments like, and I quote "You ask any girl about watching a girl on girl scene and they would be fine with it, but even ask a straight girl about a guy on guy scene and they'd be disgusted." Honestly, not most women I know...) Thankfull AVClub where i tend to hang out is, as usual, a bit more level-headed.

I am getting into this show. I caught up last night and as far as the last scene, I took it as simply Ethan being irresistibly drawn to Dorian. It was clearly further evidence of Doran's power. Otherwise, why is he a character.

I am loving the cast. Billie Piper is mesmerizing. The scenes where she describes her leaving home, and then watching the play were terrific. I wish her accent was slightly less thick as I have trouble understanding on first listen...but her face tells you everything. Green, Treadaway and Carney are great, and loved seeing Alun Armstrong!

So, who's going to be the creature's bride? Brona after she succumbs? The lead actress of the Grand Gruignol after an accident in the theater?

Dalton is still sexy at 70!

Just caught up with the last episode--which I thought worked as a perfect self contained episode giving us Vanessa's backstory, while adding to the entire show (it seems to bother some viewers but I like how each episode tends to take a different tone or approach.) Just a perfect episode, even if most of the reveals (ie she sleeps with the fiance) are of course obvious, I liked how they were slightly subverted, And ma, this show is gorgeously filmed.

However, I'm starting to wonder if they'll have any sort of tieing things up for season one (3 episodes left) since it was finished before a second season was even really in the cards.

I assume they really did brain surgeries like that back then, but I was so disturbed by that scene! I also think I'll appreciate this episode more when/if we get a follow up to the last scene in the previous episode. That was really all I wanted to see so I was a little irritated by this episode but at least we knew it was coming.
That's right! Underscore mother-fu@#ers!

I loved the episode, and I really hope this show is remembered come awards time. Eva Green in particular. I love the revealing of each character's story, even if this one took a whole episode, it explained a lot. I was always wondering why she lived with Dalton. I cant wait to see Sembene's back story.

Dalton is still as sexy as he ever was.
