Jane2, I should have been clearer I am aware David Canary is still well and alive and will be on Larry David's when it comes back on HBO. They are the people I missed the most. The ones that are on the current roster of leaving I miss miss miss Thorsten Kaye, Aidan and from OLTL though not gone yet Brian Kerwin, Susan Haskell. They destroyed these characters.Well it is only a soap.
The scene in the room with Erica-she has been kidnapped AGAIN-before her wedding to Jack-sorry to say but though she had such longevity on this show I could not stand the character-but I guess that is why I kept returning to watch her. Is it me or does anyone else get sick of Kendall-lovely looking girl but without a trong male lead yuck-JMO
I had my suspicions it wasn't happening--even when the rumour was it would at least for OLTL, but I admit I'm devestated (more for AMC which has been one of my great loves, even at its worst, since I was 11). Apparently OLTL didn't even film a somewhat ending... We'll see.
The current gossip is with the rights reverting back to ABC, and apparently some intention for ABC to throw something involving AMC/OLTL together (rumours go from everything from a limited Summer series to their own online model using characters), PP has thrown this together because it will work on a clause they had which will allow them to retain the rights for a while longer. Meh.
The possible online revival of 'All My Children' has secured Vincent Irizarry.
"Happy to share that I just signed on with Prospect Park for the All My Children reboot," the actor wrote Friday. "Excited to bring dastardly Dr. David back to life, as he did for so many others, and to see my dear friends in Pine Valley once again. A great, big thank you to all the fans for your tenacity in keeping the hope alive. You’re awesome!!! Let’s all keep our fingers crossed together that it becomes a reality."
The article also says information that has been said before:
"As far as becoming a reality goes, producers at Prospect Park (which secured the rights to both series in 2011) have reached deals with SAG-AFTRA, the DGA and the WGA to resume production on both series as soon as January."
Well that's a great catch, and helps end rumours that they would only be able to get young actors due to money, or largely recast... But I remember all the secured actors they had for both shows last year, as well.
Sources tell Digest that Jennifer Pepperman, who was a coordinating producer at OLTL, and directed at OLTL and ATWT, where she won an Emmy, has been tapped as the new Executive Producer of ONE LIFE TO LIVE for the Web reboot. In other PP news, in addition to Lindsay Hartley (ex-Cara, AMC et al) reportedly inking a deal to appear ALL MY CHILDREN, we're hearing the company has reached out to three other big name Pine Valley stars and has its sights on some OLTL biggies, too.
I still don't buy any of this, but... More info on the planned format (30 min episodes four times a week) and filming locations. Apparently since this was posted, they HAVE decided to talk to WGA writers and not fi core ones... (Oh and ABC extended their lease on the shows and characters, that was meant to expire at the end of 2012, to the end of Feb 2013, if production hasn't started up by then, apparently they will lose the rights. Umm... again...)
As should any fan be, any rational fan. at least this time there is a firm deadline--end of Feb after which there's not a single legal way it can continue.
