Jeez, Benny and Usnavi are robbing the cradle. Kidding. re: In The Heights Character Question

The photo's from 1987, I think.
Jimmy, what are you doing here in the middle of the night? It's almost 9 PM!

But if Benny's supposedly 24 and Nina's supposedly only 19 and not to mention that Benny works for Nina's parents, how would her parents react if they found out what Nina and Benny did after the club and the fireworks. If you never saw the show, Benny is standing on his balcony and Nina walks out wearing his shirt and looks like nothing else, implied romantic things here Linnamon Roll

Her father doesn't approve I'm pretty sure, regardless of whether or not he knows that they had sex.

pushdabutton, they're speaking about the libretto, or script. I don't believe there was a book published detailing the making of the musical, which I think is what you were asking.

As we've discussed several times already on this board, sung-through musicals DO have books. Lin-Manuel Miranda won a Tony this year for Hamilton's book. A book does not mean only spoken dialogue, it means structuring and developing the story and characters.

Amen.. such a simple concept, really.

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

Nina's parents don't approve of Benny and wouldn't be happy about them shacking up, but not because of his age (why would a five-year age difference matter? Assuming he is 24, which I'm not sure is the case. I always felt like he was younger than Usnavi).
