Can I get away with the last row of the mezz at the Booth? Don't really have $159 for orchestra.

I'm excited to see Schumer working on material that she didn't write. She has excellent instincts.

I saw Other Desert Cities from there and it was perfectly fine. I love the Booth; it has great sightlines and acoustics.

Well, they certainly aren't shy about pricing.

Imagine the last two rows of the side mezz will go rather quickly, being the only seats at $59.

From what I remember, I believer they have 20 or 22 spots for standing room, if/when they choose to offer them.

People realize that Amy Schumer doesn't write most of her own show, right? Like, it's not a leap for her to do a scripted role.

"You travel alone because other people are only there to remind you how much that hook hurts that we all bit down on. Wait for that one day we can bite free and get back out there in space where we belong, sail back over water, over skies, into space, the hook finally out of our mouths and we wander back out there in space spawning to other planets never to return hurrah to earth and we'll look back and can't even see these lives here anymore. Only the taste of blood to remind us we ever existed. The earth is small. We're gone. We're dead. We're safe." -John Guare, Landscape of the Body

Thanks! I got one of the $59 tickets. I love Key and Laura Benanti. I can take or leave Amy but trust Steve Martin.

Anyone know how difficult it might be to watch this from the front row? Normally I avoid being that close, but it looks like the majority of the orchestra is taken for the dates I'm looking at...trying to decide if it's better to go with mid-to-back mezz or take a chance on the first row. Haven't been in this theater before so not sure about the stage height.

I sat front row for Hand to God in 2015, and I had no problem seeing.  But then, I am a tall person. (About 6 feet.)

Just got a front row seat for this on Saturday, November 18th.  With this cast, I knew I needed to act fast.

I love Schumer, but I'm not sure I need to rush out and see this. Maybe wait for Standing Room. It does seem odd that it's such a short run and then they put it in the smallest house possible. I'm assuming their expecting the prices to be crazy.

Why all the dislike for Schumer? Is it just overexposure, a dislike of her work, a dislike of her public persona, or some combo? I'm genuinely asking.

I despised her most recent netflix special where she went on for the first twenty minutes or so about her genitals and how they smelled. I couldn't tell you what happened after because I turned it off. I'm by no means easily offended, I watch Family Guy all the time. I just didn't think it was at all funny.

What's the stage door gonna be like?  Will they all come out and sign?

Super happy for Benanti who at least gets a new play instead of the MFL revival. I'm not sold on Schumer but definitely interested to see what she can do on the stage.

I don't know about "Amy Schumer" and "Comedy" in the same breath, but let's see how it goes.

We really have no way of knowing for sure. Depends on a ton of factors. But just for fun, if I had to guess I'd bet they all come out fairly consistently. Benanti skipped out on She Loves Me because of her health, but she's usually very engaged in the stage-door scene. I think Key has been signing and posing for photos after Hamlet pretty frequently, so I bet he does the same here. My guess is Schumer will be less consistent, and maybe she won't pose for photos when she does come out. No idea about Tudyk's fan habits, but I find more celebrities come out and sign than not. I'd guess it'll be a pretty crowded stage-door - probably lots of autograph hounds. Since the stage-door is in Schubert alley, there will be more space and more foot traffic, so I image we'll see pretty large crowds, like there was for Bradley Cooper. No one here is really "A-List" like Cooper, but their combined star power may result in similar-sized crowds.

This is all purely conjecture, of course. In truth I just don't know. I consider this post more of a fun, analytical guessing game than an actual prediction.

I didn't get that sense, but sarcasm is notoriously difficult to read on the internet. I admit it'd be sort of silly to expect an answer to that question this early, but I figure bwaylyric was just looking for guesses/predictions. Not a definitive answer. My apologies if I read that wrong - but like I said, I just found it to be kind of a fun challenge, like guessing how many jelly beans are in the jar, etc.

I sat front row a number of times for Next to Normal and for Other Desert Cities and didn't really have any issues with the stage height, it's pretty low in there unless they bring it up. I'm 5'6", for reference. The rear mezz at the Booth is also honestly fine, it's a really small space and I've never had any issues with being in the back up there. It's probably about personal preference and/or cost.

I'm surprised too by the general disliking of her. Yes, I got a little tired of her writing, but I never thought she wasn't a great comic actress. And she does come from a theatre background, I believe she had every intention of being an actress before she became a comic.

I think it was sweet that you tried to give a genuine answer.

Random thought... where exactly is the Booth stage door? Is it next to the Schubert stage door where all the show posters are? If so, I might have to stop cutting through there when I'm working in the area.
