The major ticket sellers are doing advance exchanges for most Broadway shows as of now.

As for Off-Broadway:

"The Moors" has cancelled their Tuesday night performance.

I guess we can expect lots of cancellations then! Usual rule of thumb for the Broadway League is to only cancel when public transportation shuts down.

Oh man, last time this happened we got a half an inch of snow.  It was really ridiculous.  Our horrible Mayor closed our schools and public transportation.  For no reason.  Sigh.

Wasn't "last time" in late January 2016, when there was far more snow than that? Are you thinking of 2015?

I'm almost positive the MTA shutdown over nothing in 2015 was the Governor, not the Mayor.

Well, our trip was supposed to start tomorrow.  Now we've had two different flights cancelled, and won't be arriving until Thursday at 5:15!  We will miss Dear Evan Hansen Wednesday night, so I guess I'll see if we can get a refund for that one.

My question:  the earliest flight that we could get arrives at LGA at 5:15.  We have tickets to Hello, Dolly! for that night at 8:00.  Will there be any way that we will be able to arrive at the theater in time, or do I just consider that performance a wash too and try to get a refund?  I know that trying to make it into Manhattan in less than 3 hours from LGA, during rush hour, will be next to impossible, so I think I already know what the answer is (but I'm in denial and don't want to accept that we'll miss Bette!)

I think it depends on a lot of variables: if your plane is on time, how long it takes to taxi and deplane, luggage check and how readily transportation into the city is. Usually three hours is more than enough but with incliment weather it could be cutting it close. You might call Ticketmaster and see if they if they'd be willing to exchange just to be safe.

Thanks Queen, that's what I was thinking. We will not check our bags, so that will help. I'm pretty sure we wouldn't be able to exchange for another performance during this trip, and I don't know when we'll make it back. I'm actually leaning towards trying to make it by showtime. We've waited so long for this, I had no idea we were booking during blizzard season, lol!

Don't know too much about NYC weather and it's patterns, but should I be fine in 2 weeks? Hoping for no show or plane cancellations.

If you land at 5:15, you should be able to make it to the theater. LGA isn't that far. Even with traffic, I'd say 60, 90 minutes max

I forgot to say that we're staying downtown. I know that we won't have time to check in at the hotel and then make it back uptown, so I guess we'll try to find luggage storage around the theater.

Thanks for the feedback guys, I'm feeling a little better about this!

I think you should be able to make the show as long as the flight is on time and you can get some kind of transportation straight to the theatre like a subway.

Take into account the renovations at LGA. The traffic patterns around there are awful right now. And 5:15 is rush hour.

The governor controls the MTA, idiot.

I was not aware of that.  The name calling is rude and unnecessary.   Yes, the 2015 storm is what I was thinking.

Dollypop, what's your budget? For 3/15 one night I'm seeing a 4.5* hotel on Hotwire in the Theater District/Midtown West for $148. (Price subject to change.)  Possibly this is the TRYP, uncertain.

Amenities: Complimentary Free Internet, Business center, Fitness center, Pet friendly, Restaurant(s), Smoke-free rooms, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility.

Well, I must say that your best wishes worked!  This morning I was actually able to get a flight for late tomorrow instead of Thursday (it's connecting through Columbus, but at this point I don't care, I'm just fine with getting into New York tomorrow!)  We still won't be able to make it to DEH on Wednesday, but I will still try to exchange those tickets later today.  What's most important is that we won't miss Hello, Dolly! on Thursday!

Thank you everyone for your feedback and words of encouragement!

Things are looking good on this end. It's 9 am and the snow has turned to rain. Yes, there is a possibility that we'll have flooding here on long Island. Of course, this can all change but it looks as though I'll be able to travel by train (the only way to see HELLO DOLLY!) tomorrow night. Now, let me pick out my Sunday Clothes to wear tomorrow night!
