His "street" outfit was all kinds of awful. His taste level is....eh. But he's a good sewer.
After the criticism Tim has shown in past seasons regarding the fairness and evaluation of the judges, I'm disappointed he used his save on Cornelius. If it was indeed his decision (though it reeks of producers), either Tim has seen something positive about Cornelius that has never been aired (which is entirely possible), or Tim had a stroke that caused memory loss and a severe lapse in judgment. I was SO looking forward to the "I have to ask you to clean out your space" spiel. Ugh.

Tim clearly made the decision on his own because he felt Cornelius was bullied by the two "mean girls." I don't think they were being mean to him. They just naturally didn't fit in together and the other two had a stronger bond with each other. Cornelius could have introduced a second color if he really wanted to.

Arrrrggggggggghhhhhhhhhh...that doggone wasted Tim Gunn save last week resulted in one of the more interesting designers going home. Heidi and her crew dispatched her over Nathalia who sent her mom down the runaway in a poorly-sewn coat 6 sizes too large replete with fugly ill-fitting slacks that didn't flatter her figure. WTF

I can live with the judges' decision but found the runner up's line more fashion-forward & cohesive. Full credit to the winner though for having sewing skills, vivid imagination, and a clear aesthetic. The winner's all-important gimmick came through as well.
I wasn't thrilled with any of them. But I thought the big surprise was the difference in Laurance's work compared to what she showed during the season. Heidi echoed what i said during the show last night,

It seemed as if Laurance didn't really want to win. Her collection featured only one of her earlier hits, the olive-ish jumpsuit. I figure she outsmarted herself trying to outguess the judges who told her two episodes back that she needed to mix things up a bit.
But, the biggest disappointment was what Heidi wore to the finale. wtf???
I was very disappointed in Erin's win. But she was the judge's little poodle from the start. IMO she should have eliminated many weeks ago for producing that same formless tent coat week after week the shape of which made its way into some of her dresses as the season progressed. Who would wear that crap with all the craft projects pasted all over the garments? Can you imagine sitting in those things? You would crush the stick-em-on doo-dads and likely cut your ass in the process.
If she were designing for a circus clown troupe, she hit it out of the ballpark. Her designs are formless, laughably ugly, and not at all functional. My wish for Erin is that the worms she glued onto her outfits a few weeks back come to life and eat the garments.
Laurenz (sp) should have won. Although her final show wasn't up to previous weeks, everything she presented was classy, wearable, functional for recreation,, work, or a night on the town, and they were well-made. She designs what women will wear.
My predictions - Laurenz will go on to design for Ralph Lauren or Michael Kors. Erin will be creating costumes for Barnum and Bailey.
I actually liked much of Erin's designs, though it's not saying much as I found the entire season to be mostly "meh", especially the finale. But much like American Idol and Top Model, the winners are often not the ones from their season to have the most commercial success. If Laurenz had stayed on track, she probably would have won, but her final collection was pretty boring and very forgettable. And that thing with the white pointy vagina was the most hideous thing in all three collections. ICK.
I was just watching a "major" fashion show on tv. On the runway were the very top models wearing the very latest creations by the very top designers. I observed that some of the concepts shown on the clothes that have people raving out of their minds, would cause some competitors on Project Runway to go home. haha.
