Thanks for the suggestions. I stayed at the Westin on Michigan Avenue when I visited several years ago.  I booked that through Hotwire.

Hyatt Centric is my go to Loop hotel for weekends when you often can get great rates since it cater to business travelers during the week. Boutique property, two blocks from a Blue Line stop, only two years old.

I stayed at the Allegro when I came to see Mormon a couple of years ago. It's not bad price-wise if you don't go during peak season. Really nice room in a great location!

Hosteling International is also a good option. It can get a little warm inside, though.

Does anybody know if they'll be switching to the new Playbill design for Hamilton? I went to Kinky Boots tonight and Broadway in Chicago still hasnt switched to the newer design yet.

Could you post on the Kinky Boots thread about some of the changes to the set? Thanks.

Thanks for the hotel recommendations!

Question:  Does anyone know what the schedules are for Hamilton Chicago performers?

I've searched Google and these boards and haven't been able to come up with this info, but apologies if I've overlooked something.

My daughter is an enormous (HUGE) Hamilton fan, and I've gotten her tickets to the November 26th matinee in Chicago.  Managed to get them via Ticketmaster when they became available (not resale).  We tried hard to see the OBC in New York and came tantalizingly close; failing that, I really want her to be able to see the main cast (Joshua Henry, Miguel Cervantes, Karen Olivo, etc.) in Chicago.  If they tend to be off for Saturday matinees, I would strongly consider switching dates; the resale prices for my current tickets are high enough to cover most dates that I'd change it to, I think (minus fees etc of course).

I'm also concerned about it being the Saturday after Thanksgiving in terms of performers.

Any thoughts/ pointers?

Thanks!!

EDIT:  I went ahead and contacted the theater directly and was told that generally this theater just expects that there will not be any understudies performing unless there is a specific issue, but this production is so big that they're not sure how it will shake out, and they'll know more later.

Why would they "tend to be off"? The only character who has anyone regularly (and publicly) sharing the role is the titular one.

I thought I remembered from when I followed this closely that it wasn't just Lin/ Javier, but that Renee, Daveed etc., also had regular days that they didn't perform.  If only Miguel Cervantes is at risk of not performing at our show, that's a relief (although of course we'd like to see him).

Anybody trying to get the reclaimed scalper tickets this week? I gave up during the initial sale, but I'd love to catch a pair this week.

No, only the actors playing Hamilton have had alternates. A role like Angelica really isn't demanding enough to need a performance off each week.

Airconway, yep, this is why I asked my question in fact -- trying to figure out if there is any reason to switch dates.  (Good luck!)

Thanks for feedback re: alternates.  I really thought that others were regularly off too, but that may have been towards the end of their run.

Still would love to catch Miguel.  For most of the Broadway run Javier Munoz stepped in for the Saturday matinee specifically, so that's my worry.  (The show I have tickets for is the Saturday matinee.)

I just got a text alert from Ticketmaster, so I went online to check it out. There are some available at the end of the sale period e in March in the orchestra-- but they're all premium despite a few singles that are obstructed view at 177. The premium price isn't out of the question (495 I think) but I'd rather try to get a regular priced one...

I got lucky and snagged three mezz seats for January 20th. KEEP LOOKING. More tickets are popping up on random dates.

No lie, I've been refreshing about 12 tabs since yesterday waiting for this. My sister is going to fly in to see it, and the other will be a (surprise) Christmas gift for my lady. We saw it in NY in August 2015 and were bummed to miss tickets once the Chi cast was released. Good luck to you!!!

I had a question about all the "partial view" tickets. I'm looking to scoop up some tickets since they've released some from ticketmaster and I see a lot are marked partial view. Some of the ones I was looking at are Orchestra, row E, seat 16, which is 3 seats in from the aisle. Also, mezzanine row C, seat 13 which is again 3 seats in from the aisle. Are these serious view obstructed or is it because of an overhang you won't see a minute or so of the performance? There just seems to be a ton of "partial view" seats which makes me a little worried.

I would avoid it. The Private Bank Theatre is huge. IMO, it's too big. Due to its size, the sight lines can be awful depending on where you're sitting. Prime seats are the center orchestra and center mezz. Use the link below when getting your tickets, it gives you the best idea on what you're getting yourself into.

While the PrivateBank Theatre is larger than the Richard Rodgers, I have never heard anyone refer to it as "huge."

Are the shapes supposed to be marking obstructed areas on that chart?

The PrivateBank is not a "wide" theater, so I imagine that most of the obstruction is the result of overhangs. The balcony feels very close to the stage, so the front of the stage may be obstructed from there too.

When did these seats open up????  And why can't I find them for the dates I'm in Chicago in November

I saw Book of Mormon there and the view wasn't ideal, and that was mid-level orchestra. The theatre feels deep if anything, so while huge might not be the best way to describe it, it is a large house.

I would think of it as pretty wide. I saw Mormon there from extreme side orchestra seats (both sides) and it wasn't a bad view if you were already familiar with the show. But since I think more happens upstage in Hamilton than in Mormon, they may be less than ideal.
