If the Cort was ever considered, I'm glad they didn't take it. I don't think this show would play very well to the balcony.

"the view from the front of the orchestra onto the upper level of this set is pretty terrible, you'd likely get a much better show from the balcony

So what is going into the Cort?

Less than a month ago a member of Shubert security told an usher friend of mine not to expect a 90 minute show at the Schoenfeld as their next show. Since security has a master list of what's coming into and going from the houses, it was a strong hint that this wasn't the next tenant (Anastasia is rumored). So this was definitely a very recent decision, but that's not to say it was ever going to the Cort.

I worked at the Schoenfeld towards the end of the run of American Psycho.

There was a rumor going around the theater that a revival of Smokey Joe's Cafe was going to be next.

Who knows? Rumors always abound in the world of theater.

I was just wondering something. Could it possibly be, that their theatre of choice all along was The Cort but had to find another one since Bright Star was there? And, now that it's available they are going there instead?

If so, this reminds me of when Next To Normal announced their Broadway run. the were wanting the Booth, but that was taken, so they were announced to go into the Longacre instead. Once the booth opened up in time, they grabbed that up and set up shop there instead.

Could this be real with the show moving to the Cort? tickets are still not available for the shows at the Schoenfeld starting August 9th and maybe there finalizing a different switch then originally intended....

on telacharge it brings up the seating chart for the Hays (not the Schoenfeld) when you try to pick a seat from the chart

Schoenfeld is better location and better theater for this show in general.

Select a date after 8/9, and there is a message stating that all performances from 8/9 on will be at the Schoenfeld.

That being said, it is unusual that the last four rows of the mezzanine don't appear to be on sale.

I see now where it says the show is moving but it still shows the Helen Hays seating chart.....side note, I thought tickets were on sale through the end of December? I see them now on sale through October

UPDATE: i see it now... whats weird is that it shows the tickets from november and December on a different page then the other ticket page you get from the Humans website

There is no reason for them to choose the Cort over the more desirable Schoenfeld. So, no.

More likely they wanted the Schoenfeld and were ready to settle for the Cort and only got their top choice at the last minute.

I don't know what's going on with the online ticket sales, but I walked by the Schoenfeld and the marquee is already up, so it is definitely going there.

I am a firm believer in serendipity- all the random pieces coming together in one wonderful moment, when suddenly you see what their purpose was all along.
