There is no way that Anika would be a replacement for anyone in a major Broadway show.

For a show that is as widely successful and challenging as this is? Any actor in their right mind would take the part if offered. It's insane publicity, money, and I'm sure a very satisfying part (pun only slightly intended). We have seen some phenomenal replacements of late - I think Broadway is finally going back to the 60s when shows like Hello Dolly saw a stream of popular leading ladies lining up to play the part.

I'm planning to see this production and I have my dates sorted (in December). Should I still be worried that they'd be gone if I log in fifteen minutes prior to 10am Chicago time and keep on refreshing? I am planning on getting 1-2 tickets for three dates in Chicago.

I believe 10am Chicago which is when the box office opens as well. All Chicago media is reporting it as 10am (without explicitly saying local time, but I think it's a logical conclusion).

Mister Matt said: "Oh, and Karen Olivo as Eliza!  Isn't she in Milwaukee now?"

This would fit then Karen can miss as many shows as Phillipa Soo.

Huh? There are definitely other cast members that miss as many shows as Phillipa.

I wasn't talking about the others.  I was comparing Karen's lack of attendance in relation to Phillipa's   They both wouldn't get perfect attendance awards

aaaaaa15 said: While I appreciate what you're saying, I've seen people say they didn't realize Phillipa was Asian and she herself has said she had never been talked about as an actor of color before Hamilton. I think it's important that we don't erase the ethnicities of 'white-passing' actors. As long as Hamilton has a wide range of ethnicities then I don't think it matters too much if certain actors aren't white but look white to some people.

True. I get your point about not erasing "white-passing" actors. Phillipa has also said, though, that the most rewarding experience to her has been when young Asian people tell her that she has been an inspiration to them seeing her in such a prominent role. Which is a point that I think a lot of white people miss, the awe at seeing someone who represents your ethnicity (or near enough) doing something that white people usually get defaulted into.

I'm sure Carleigh is lovely and I've heard only positive reviews of her going on as Eliza. I'm not specifically criticizing her, and maybe I'm wrong in assuming she is Caucasian -- I just see so much dream-casting of white actors as Hamilton characters, which is tedious because it misses the point entirely.

There has been none. We don't even know who's taking over for Leslie and Phillipa in two weeks time yet.
