I have tickets for March.  Just got an email from LCT that this is moving from the Golden to the Belasco.

Wait WHAT? What's happening at Golden then? This is insane!

PS - Belasco is a good house for this show because of the sheer opulence of that space. Looking forward to the production.

Iiiinteresting. OK. FWIW The Belasco is a great space for Menagerie. The ghosts and all.

This is an LCT production? Hm. Interesting. Seems like it would be a commercial production given the names attached.

It's LCT partnered with Scott Rudin, so it's essentially a commercial production.

"You travel alone because other people are only there to remind you how much that hook hurts that we all bit down on. Wait for that one day we can bite free and get back out there in space where we belong, sail back over water, over skies, into space, the hook finally out of our mouths and we wander back out there in space spawning to other planets never to return hurrah to earth and we'll look back and can't even see these lives here anymore. Only the taste of blood to remind us we ever existed. The earth is small. We're gone. We're dead. We're safe." -John Guare, Landscape of the Body

I'm guessing that since the last revival took place three years ago, it was probably a good idea to partner to LCT as there could be some people who felt they had just seen The Glass Menagerie.

We have our tickets already too (how do they change seats if already purchased?) ; actually it's Joe Mantello we want to see onstage again.

It's kind of unusual for so many productions of TGM on Broadway in such short spurts with truly great actors. In 2010, the terrific Judith Light led a production. Then shortly after that, in 2013, the incredible Cherry Jones, with Zachary Quinto and wonderful Celia Keenan-Bolger; (I wonder how Laura will emerge from the furniture this time?). So now, Sally Field, don't get me wrong...I like her, I really like her.

In the end, it's Tennessee Williams. So that's not too shabby at all.

Where did Judith Light do The Glass Menagerie? The revival we had before the last one was with Jessica Lange in 2005.

He means Judith Ivey.

Hey JK, my bad, I meant Judith Ivey, (apologies)....I didn't realize there was Jessica Lange and

"Va-Va-Vippster" Sarah Paulson! That must have been great too.  Sally Field and Joe Mantello Will Lead THE GLASS MENAGERIE on Broadway Next Spring

ps. I do love me some Judith Light, though!

Well, now I want to see Judith Light as Amanda.

A little swash, a bit of buckle - you'll love it more than bread.

I just tried to get tickets online and it's still showing the Golden. Unlike the swap from the Belasco to the Music Box, these houses are very different. Since aisle seats are important to me, I didn't want to select based upon the wrong seating plan. I called and discovered that they don't have the Belasco seats either - they're working on reassigning tickets as we speak.

Any guesses when the new seating plan (and available seats) will be available?

No I wonder what will take the Golden?

A Chorus Line played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013.

Still praying for Indecent, which needs a small house.

I totally forgot about Indecent, but that would be a great choice. Does Scott have another play in the works he wanted a house for?

Indecent would be a marvelous fit- especially as this season is shockingly light on new plays: right now, it's only Heisenberg, Oslo, Significant Other, and The Present (which is an adaptation of Chekhov). I'm not sure if Oh, Hello and The Encounter would count as new plays, or if they fall into that nebulous "special event" zone.

That's premiering in California in April, at South Coast Rep.. presumably without the all-star cast.

(I would watch the hell out of that production, though).

If you're dropping gossip, you could try to spell Lucas Hnath correctly.

Is The Master Builder with Ralph Fiennes and Linda Emond still transferring? Rudin is the producer on that, so maybe he wanted the smaller Golden Theatre for TMB, and give the more well known Glass Menagerie with more famous star the bigger theatre?

The only other things I could think of would be Spongebob (which will absolutely need a bigger theatre, and theyve supposedly got one) Smokey Joes Cafe (which I doubt will be ready this season), or Pal Joey (which also may not be ready this season).  But the Golden is really a better fit for plays imo (usually). I can only think of The Master Builder, Indecent, and The Play that Goes Wrong. Anyone know of others circling Broadway?
