I also have to wonder if Ripa is looking to get out of her contract now.

I can understand being pissed off because she was blindsided, but it doesn't make sense to stay away until he leaves if the two supposedly have a strained working relationship.  Wouldn't she welcome the change in that case?

I have no idea why she wasn't informed first, but it doesn't excuse her actions.

She would have to work in an incredibly uncomfortable situation for over 3 months. No reason she should do it or be asked by the ABC suits to do it.

Do not think it about money. This is the 2 nd time she was blindsided by a co host and this one really hurt. She fought for him to come on and now this.

This has the makings of a disaster. Is it possible ABC just pulls him off the show immediately to avoid awkwardness between the two?

This is the best solution to avoid a PR disaster. They use guest co hosts and pay him to sit on his hands for a few months.She comes out smelling like a rose and he gets the short end of the stick.

I think that's simply because of who they currently have to fill-in for her. I doubt she returns if Strahan is on the show. And it'll be interesting to hear what she has to say when she returns. That's assuming she returns & doesn't try and get out of her contract.

She always came off as phony and disingenuous to me. And when Regis stated in an interview about a year ago that he and Kelly had not been in touch since he left the show, that spoke volumes. Too bad if she feels blindsided. Boohoo for her. Was Strahan supposed to consult with her and include her in on his contract negotiations? ABC should ditch her for unprofessional behavior and being in violation of her contract and start fresh with two new co-hosts.

Yeah, ABC/Disney could just simply cancel LIVE and extend GMA for another hour and not even think twice about it if this is too big of a mess. And this would leave Ripa without a job.

I'm not going to judge her actions here. Let's not forget how our beloved Ms. LuPone reacted to the news that she wouldn't be taking Sunset Blvd. to New York. It sounds like she was blindsided and she reacted emotionally -- it happens.
