I thought it stank. And I was really looking forward to it. They all looked so ill at ease. Hopefully, they'll settle into their new digs and roles soon, and things will improve. But it wasn't just the co-hosts. The direction was ****ty, the music was crap, and the new set was somewhat of an eye sore. They need a desk, not a coffee table! The one thing I did appreciate, though, was that they were clearly going out of their way NOT to talk over each other. They seem to be taking a more "everybody gets their turn" approach, much like The Talk, which is still a much better show.

Updated On: 9/15/14 at 10:46 PMLuscious you are correct. They were given a "talking to" about interrupting. The reason they might have seemed awkward is this was the second time they were all together besides one run through. I will say, there was a lot of fun being had during the commercial breaks. If they can bring THAT fun and energy to the show they're back.
There's definitely room to grow... I am shocked that they only spent a week doing test shows. With so much (at least buzz re: Rosie's return) riding on today, it seemed like they still have a lot to work out. That said, it seemed like everyone is on board to make this an exciting, thoughtful show. Rosie O let Whoopi drive the bus and didn't talk over the others... Whoopi smiled more in that hour than she has in the last 7 years... Nicole Wallace seems intelligent. I appreciated that they opened with a "we're working on it" vibe. I think the audience needs to be mic'd more (felt the same thing about Rosie's OWN show). I am looking forward to seeing how it all settles in.
Todays audience was filled with quite a few industry folks being the reason for low energy. I think once every day super fans get in the crowd it'll be better. They've made it very clear, Whoopi is in charge. I too liked and respect the "working on it" mentality.
I thought it was shaky, but it will fall into place. I actually really like the set. But I do completely agree that they need a fifth co-host. An older woman in the Walters position is missed. Surely many female senior citizens watch the show, why is their view not represented?

The game was dumb. Having a game show segment was what turned me off to Rosie's OWN show and is the worst part of Jimmy Fallon's show too.
And dear lord. When Rosie O, Whoopi and Kristin Chenoweth were huddled and cuddling together like triplets caught in a hurricane as they paid a musical tribute to Joan Rivers I woulda puked but didn't want to have to use a toothbrush to clean the vomitus from my keyboard. This is never, ever going to end is it?

LOL, Namo! I thought of you during the musical tribute to Joan. I love me some Joan, and haven't yet tired of all the tributes. She obviously meant a lot to a lot of people, who want to pay their respects. But the song that Chenoweth sang was so cheesy, it had me cringing.
Maybe I was expecting too much. I really hope they continue to tweak the show and make improvements. The set wasn't the worst thing about it. I can live with it...except for the coffee table. I think that's really what made them look so uncomfortable. Bring back the big table! I don't need to see their lower halves.

The weird thing about it to me was that the number seemed more like something that would be done in memory of Robin Williams on a Depression and Mental Illness Telethon. Kristin's working the waif thing so much she looks like the missing Olsen triplet, replete with Keane eyes and chihuahua trembling.

If you enjoy controversy and heated debate, you'll keep watching. That is why despite how obnoxious Season 6 was, it was one of their most successful ones: viewers couldn't get enough of Elizabeth and Ro Ro duke it out. Hope we can get back to that type of Shit. The View needed a big shot in the arm.
I like the part where they talk about punching Sarah Palin in the face and then go on to talk about violence in the NFL and they did it with a straight face.

If anyone ever tells you that you put too much Parmesan cheese on your pasta, stop talking to them. You don't need that kind of negativity in your life.
Seems a new "View" is what the people wanted! The Season 15 premiere of "The View” landed the series’ most viewers in eight years, with 3.902 million.
It was the second-biggest audience in the show's premiere history.

Gorlois, I agree with you; I believe Nicholle was trying to clarify her statement but Rosie O was getting a bit interrupt-y already, today. She showed a bit of restraint, too, though. Kudos for her getting on in age and perhaps mellowing out. Or, she's tired from having a new baby at home and doesn't have the energy. Either way, I like her but as long as she doesn't get too obnoxious. Glad that they've made it clear that Whoopi is still officially the moderator and therefore, leads and wraps the discussions.
I don't find Nicholle a "new Elizabeth," at all. The "blonde" factor is for appearances only on the panel (you better believe, when they choose panelists the whole visual package is part of the...package). I'm no Republican, but I've always liked her because though she is one, it's not a reason to write her off; she's smart, informed, experienced, has valid perspectives on government, and is not a "scream-y" Republican. She even tried to make a few jokes today, which I found part of the learning curve of being on a panel like that, so I do give her credit. She's worlds apart--and by that I mean AHEAD--of Elizabeth, "blonde Republican" or not.

"There is no use trying," said Alice; "one can't believe impossible things." "I dare say you haven't had the practice," said the Queen. "When I was your age, I always did it for half an hour a day. Why, sometimes I've believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast." --Alice in Wonderland
I finally got around to watching the premier. The new hosts(Perez & Wallace) seemed a little restrained, but I think over time they'll get more comfortable. I definitely feel there's chemistry between all four already, which is very good.
A Chorus Line played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013.
Popped in at the end of the first show today. I may be biases as I have friends who work there but it seems the show is refreshed, Whoopi in particular. I can tell you the energy was crazy in that place. Both Rosies are a riot between commercial breaks.
They will. Remember those two are complete newbies. Rosie O and Whoopi have experience with the view. SO far the show has been good and the level of intelligent conversation has been better than ever. I just hope the housewives of america don't find it too smart and tune out.

Well if people prefer the idiots at the Talk then I don't know. I'd much rather hear Whoopi and Rosie's opinions then those.

They (it) got better as the week progressed. But it still needs work. It's obvious to me that Rosie is holding back and respecting (or trying to) Whoopi's role as moderator. I still think they should of axed Whoppi and went with an all new panel. Hopefully, she won't renew her contract after this season and Rosie can reclaim the role of moderator. And for the love of Christ, GET RID OF THE COFFEE TABLE.
