As a gay activist, I was a guest on a talk show he used to do for PBS (!!!) with his buddy Raoul Felder and Jackie was being his usual offensive self. So I confronted him and he backed off some of his stupider "jokes." After the show, an older woman was sympathetic to me, but tried to explain, "That's just his shtick." Right. Bigotry is his shtick.
