After Midnight has always had some kind of discount available.

Playbills' discount - $89 weeknights/$99 weekends
A Chorus Line played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013.

Sweet. I guess the "Fantasia" discount gets you a slightly cheaper ticket $79 vs. $89.

forgive my ignorance, but is After Midnight more of a 'concert' or does it have a plot?

it's a revue. It's more like Smokey Joe's Cafe.

According to the show's site, Danielle Herbert will be the guest from June 30-July 6.

considering it's July 4 week, I'd expect poor numbers for the show that week.

Darreyl, definitely stage door. Unless things have changed in recent years, Patti has always been a sweetheart to her fans. I have had nothing but great encounters with her, but never at stage door.

I am hoping that she will do the whole stage door thing- but if she doesn't that is perfectly fine with me- i will be second row, so being that close to her for a little bit of time is enough to make a dream that i have had since childhood come true.

Man, if I lived closer to NY, I'd be seeing all three of this summer's special guest stars. I can't wait to see video of Patti. BWW's posted tons of photos from Patti's opening night. Lots of VIPs there to see her debut including the two lovely ladies following her, Gladys Knight and Natalie Cole - who, bless her, still looks like her illness has taken its toll. Plus, Phylicia Rashad, Candy Spelling (?), Nona Hendrix, Lee Daniels (sans Butler), Tommy Tune and Andre Leon Talley.

BTW, regarding stage-dooring Patti, by all means, please do. Just don't ask her to speak to your mother on the phone.

Not being a Fantasia 'pop music" fan I was again blown away by the way she handles standards...She was made for this music..she actually suited it better and sounded better than Patti (screaming) and Gladys who started to low...
Fantasia record an album of standards PLEASE!!!!

I've heard two recent things regarding the future of AFTER MIDNIGHT. It is indeed true that the producers of the show plan to keep it open in the Fall/Winter. #1. there's a strong possibility of k.d. lang returning for a few weeks. #2. They're in talks with a big name to join the cast for 6-8 weeks during the Fall. Not sure which would come first, but this would keep the show open almost through the end of the year. Of course, Fantasia could always return.

That's great to hear, ACL. I wonder who that big get is. Aretha just seems so unlikely. Hopefully this killer lineup of guest stars over the summer will help raise the show's profile in the mean time.

While we're waiting for the first Patti LaBelle vids, let's take a stroll down memory lane and enjoy her quiet, subtle take on a classic first made by popular by Ms. Tina Turner in a 1975 film musical:

She and Cheryl Freeman are my favorite Acid Queens vocally. Though i Love Merry Clayton and Tina too.
Patti and Cheryl just sang their butts off in the role- in my opinion at least.
