I understood what it meant contextually and I cared not to learn any more. The two ledes in reviews I read gave away little things I would have preferred not knowing, so I stopped reading them and I read no more than this thread title.
I thought the Hurt Locker Playbill might be inside the real one but it wasn't. Then I thought maybe it was passed out during the show somehow (like Godspell wine) but it wasn't. Then I figured after the show, but it wasn't. Then I thought at the merch table, but it wasn't.
Oh hwell. (That's my portmanteau of oh hell and oh well).
They are scattered about on the floor. I've seen the show twice now. I was at the first preview and went back on Thursday. They definitely didn't have them for the very first show. I only grabbed one or I would mail one to you. I feel bad, i wish i knew they would be in such demand. I would have been happy to send it to you. Maybe my boyfriend won't want his. I'll ask him, I don't really care about postage. I did see a listing on ebay for $40. That's just insanity.
So they are at the theater, on the floor, under seats and such. Cool. I am going back in a few weeks. I need one to complete this season's Playbill collection.
I was at one of the previews during the week of 4/12 and didn't see any of them I will for sure buy one off someone (reasonable price) or donate $ to a favorite charity.
Which BTW does Hedwig make out with someone during every show? I was in row AA and totally (pleasantly) surprised when Hedwig made out with me mid song. Didn't see that one coming, and unforgettable.

LOL, wow! Lucky you. He didn't make out with anyone at the show I saw (in early previews 4/1), but he did give someone a faceful of crotch.
As for the original topic, I didn't see any Hurt Locker playbills scattered about when I was there either -- but again, it was only the third preview. I would LOVE to have one though.
He made out with someone the performance I saw, and licked a guy's glasses, and motor-boated me along with the tradition Car Wash. A fun time to be sure!!!
We got to the theater around 6:30 on Sunday for the 7PM performance and were about 50th in line to get in. Decided to split up to make sure we got a Hurt Locker Playbill but there was no need, they were easy to find. Some on the floor, some on the seats, some on the armrests. We could have picked up 50 of them if we had wanted to and there were still others available even 10 minutes prior to curtain (it was too full after that to be sure). We took 2, one to keep, and one that NPH signed after the show.
I went to the 10 p.m. show on Saturday and sat in the first row of the mezzanine (nice view, by the way). I picked up one Hurt Locker playbill before the show, and my friend picked up another after the show. Just turn on your cellphone flashlight and hunt around. I think most people aren't aware of these Playbills.
I saw a preview show in April and ended up being one of the people that he made out with! Super surprised and loved every second of it. Not sure if he does it in every show, or just the 10pm one. Never had that happen at a show before and likely never will again :)
He made out with someone at the show I attended. In the recent TimesTalks (available online), NPH said that at one performance, he gave some guy a closed-mouth kiss, but the person shoved his tongue into Neil's mouth. He said it felt like a turtle's head popping in and out!
Edited to add: And then JCM, who was also on the panel, chimed in with an even more graphic case of "audience participation" that he experienced in the role!
I saw the show from SRO, and couldn't find a Hurt Locker playbill afterward. I went to the box office the next day, told the nice girl working there that I'd seen the show but couldn't find a HL Playbill (the existence of which I only knew from reading BWW, so thanks, guys!), and she handed one over with a smile. That could potentially be an option for folks who live in NYC.
And I have 2 more for FREE that I picked up on Sunday if anyone is interested---- I mailed a few a couple of weeks ago to a few ppl on the boards--- no strings attached-- Just PM me your name and address and I will mail them from work
I get a chuckle out of this. When I heard about the Hurt Locker faux Playbills, I got to the theater early to get a few. They were all over the place, and I actually convinced some of my seat neighbors to pick one up and read it. They first acted like I was crazy but then when they read them, they laughed hysterically.
Glad I heard about this before I went. All my friends who could not get to NYC to see this were jsut as interested in the faux Playbill as the actual one for Hedwig.
