From the reviews I've read it seems like the general consensus is that the show does have many flaws, but still creates a great night of theatre. Whether it's great cause you actually enjoyed it or it's great because it's so bad that it was funny.

The London production closed ahead of its scheduled closing date in the West End but the biggest problem was not the show, London was packed with young shows at the time (especially Legally Blonde) and Flashdance just got lost in the mix.

Its UK Tour prior to London did huge business and was actually well received, why they made so many changes inc the score for the US is beyond me, The Long Way Home and High Art were brilliant songs

How is there a balance? You have found a handful of positive reviews (all from the same source I might add), but have failed to link one of the countless pans the tour has received.
