Enjoyed the show with Tovah & Andrea & Michael & Billy. A great turn-out for this event! Hopefully they raised lots of money for the Ali Forney Center. Orion won (which I had predicted from the beginning) but Yurel was absolutely dynamite in his talent/drag number & Callan painted in the numbers in a very effective manner, SOOO, if there was such a thing as 1st & 2nd runner-ups in this - that's how I would have voted. All guys were great. This yr. the stakes just seemed incredibly high.
"Noel [Coward] and I were in Paris once. Adjoining rooms, of course. One night, I felt mischievous, so I knocked on Noel's door, and he asked, 'Who is it?' I lowered my voice and said 'Hotel detective. Have you got a gentleman in your room?' He answered, 'Just a minute, I'll ask him.'" (Beatrice Lillie)
Where are the photos from the swimsuit competition? Team Orion all the way. I need to go back and see Pippin when he ISN'T performing just so I can watch the show and not just him. I couldn't take my eyes off of him or his abs.
Such an endearing fellow. His spouse is one very lucky person.

I attended a talk-back after a performance in Cambridge and Orion seemed to dominate the answering, except any specific or original vs revival questions. I assume it's because he's so utterly charming as well as a ham, not to mention he speaks English better than some of the other circus folk. He said over and over how crazy it was for him to adjust to "theare" where you have to hit a mark on a certain count. He laughed and said he was more used to having as much time as needed and not having to worry about step left, head down on 7, etc etc.
He also mentioned his dream post-Pippin is to open his own circus with his family. He was aware this was a "special" show and doesn't fancy doing more musicals just to do them, but is open to the right possibility.
Here's the video when the Pageant winner is announced. Sweet. Orion Griffiths
