When Georgia leaves I think Betty White would be excellent. What do you think?

This is actually something I would completely agree with. She's such a sweetheart in person.

Excuse me, have you seen DROWSY CHAPERONE? Georgia Engel does quite a bit of dancing. I can't imagine Betty White doing that at this point in her career.

It's hard to believe that Betty is 84!! She was fantastic when she was on The Practice a few seasons ago. Played totally against type.

Yes, Georgia does quite a bit of dancing in the show. There's one production number where she's in the first line and dances up a storm. If no one else has noticed it, Georgia makes every exit like a ballerina would. She's the epitome of grace. BTW: Don't expect Georgia to leave DROWSY too soon. She's known for long runs.

Having worked with Betty, I can attest to the fact that she is undoubtedly one of the sweetest, most professional women in the business. But at her age, I can't imagine that she would either want to or be up to sustaining such a role 8 performances a week. She already has a full and rewarding life on the West Coast - and continues to work there and elsewhere - so why would this be of interest to her? Of course, Bea Arthur came to Broadway in her one-woman show at the age of (close to) 80, and Elaine Stritch continues on stronger than ever. But I just don't see Betty wanting to do something like this for the long run.

Betty is STILL one of the richest women in the entertainment industry. She sure doesn't need the bucks or the general daily workout grind in order to keep up her stamina. I think she'd be a great replacement in the fantasy casting department.
