Highlights, Avenue Q, Les Miz, Hand To God, Rob Mcclures "what could we have possibly have done, stayed open 3 more weeks til tony nominations" line (got a huge applause), and I actually loved the dancers responding to Aids number this year, was pretty fun for once.
My only issue is, having gone to the Monday show in the past, they usually do a little bonus thing at the end to make up for not announcing the winners, this year it just awkwardly ended with the dancers coming out with blank poster board ala "heres the total" and then the end.
I agree that the Les Mis one was the best. I loved that John Rapson was able to perform as Javert even for one song; if you get to chance to see him in the role at the Imperial, go. Having Josh Colley as JVJ was fantastic.
What kind of bonus things have they done on Mondays in the past? I didn't know that they did that. I've only ever gone on Tuesdays.
"What was the name of that cheese that I like?"
"you can't run away forever...but there's nothing wrong with getting a good head start"
"well I hope and I pray, that maybe someday, you'll walk in the room with my heart"
Titus performing wasn't in the program, I assumed he was our bonus. He was awesome. I'll never do the Monday show again. That was so anticlimactic and the judges weren't there. You essentially pay to watch a dress rehearsal.
The cast of Avenue Q was the best. Less star power than in years past. Maybe the celebs only show up on Tuesday.
