Due to budet reasons, I am bound to choose between these two shows.
Though they are on different catehories, which onw would you recommend more?
Im a sucker for disney, but also for classic musicals.

Saw both - one vote for Aladdin. James Iglehart's performance is a joy to watch.

I've seen both but I have to say Les Miz, my all time fave show! I've seen it 16x the most of any show and I never get tired of it. I've seen Alladin and Altho I enjoyed it a lot is in no rush to see it again! But you can't go wrong with either choice!

I would honestly say neither. I was not over the moon about either show. However, I did enjoy Aladdin whereas I absolutely HATED the new production of Les Miserables.

While I enjoyed, Aladdin, I would recommend Le Miz. The songs are just so powerful and memorable. More substance for your Broadway $.
The only review of a show that matters is your own.

i saw both productions last summer within a few days of each other
if youve never seen les miz, you need to see a broadway or london production, and the current lead John val jean is stunning (he leaves in august..im sure they will replce him with someone great)
This is one of the great musicals of all time, with a half dozen plus songs that are musical theatre classics...epic story, sets, etc
I liked alladin a lot, but its an entirely different league of show. "A whole new world" is the only song that is a true "classic" from this show...the book is ok, sets are great and the flying carpet is fun....

I love Les Miz but James Monroe Iglehart's tony award winning performance is a must see. Aladdin all the way

I saw both shows last summer and I liked each of them very much.
If you're more interested in an old-fashioned musical comedy with a little dose of Disney Magic, Aladdin.
If you're more interested in seeing a production of Les Miserables on Broadway, as Michael Riedel said, 'it looks and sounds great!'

I haven't seen this production of Les Mis, my friends raved about it, but I've seen the show so many times I'm a bit burned out on it and decided to pass. I was dragged to Aladdin and ended up loving it--Inglehart was so a joy to watch, the ensemble was on fire, and we all left with huge smiles on our faces and hope to go back to see it again sometime.

Have you seen a professional production of Les Mis before? If you haven't, you would probably love the revival. However, I've seen Les Mis many tims and this production just didn't compare to my previous experiences with the show. Aladdin may be sporadically cheesy, but James Igleharts's performance is worth the ticket! I say Aladdin

Aladdin is a good show. Please know going in if you choose it that it is obviously very kid friendly and at times "cheesy", as someone else said. Even though it is a family show from Disney, I was still a little surprised that it was so juvenile during certain moments. They certainly did not shy away from cracking corny jokes etc .... and that is fine, but you should know going in. In contrast, Matilda is a fantastic kid friendly show as well, but never once would I call it cheesy or juvenile. It was much better in my opinion than Aladdin.
I loved Ramin in this production of Les Miz. I do not usually like seeing a production more than once but I will be seeing Les Miz for a third time when I visit this summer, if that helps at all.

Aladdin seemed to me like a theme park show that made it to Broadway.
