Anyone know or seen the new leads for the touring production? Thoughts, good or bad--compared to the original NYC cast. Thanks!

I saw them. I didn't like Mark Evans very much. He wasn't terrible, but his performance was just kind of bland in my opinion. Chris O'Neill was good. he wasn't as over-the-top as other Cunninghams I've seen, but he was funny. Overall, I preferred Gavin and Jared.

I just saw them as well. I think they're still finding their way, but they're very good and work well together. Chris is like a more toned-down Josh Gad who sounds eerily like Will Blum at times.

Anyone else think it is funny that they brought over a West End actor to the U.S. National Tour and sent an American Actor to London to play Elder Price?

Ironic.

I don't think it's ironic, but it is kinda amusing since they kept going on about how they wanted an American to play a very American character on the West End.

Id guess its a training idea ready for Mark to take over in the West End. They can use people established in the role to get the show open in London and then bring in Mark.

Unfortunately Mark has always been bland but I hoped he would have been better in this.

FWIW I didn't think he was bland (and he's certainly far from my least favorite Price), but it was also my first time ever seeing him in anything.

Have they been incorporating a local orchestra everywhere they go?

We are going this week-I have high expectations for both of them.

"Have they been incorporating a local orchestra everywhere they go?"

I would assume that they follow the pattern that most shows do where they travel with a corp of musicians and incorporate locals at each stop to fill out the rest.

I caught the show too this last weekend! The tour is in great hands with Evans, and O'Neill. O'Neill was hilarious with awesome comic timing, and Evans nailed I Believe! As for the rest of the company, what a fun energetic powerhouse cast!
