Sandy really kicked some shows down badly. Only a few shows posted decent numbers. basically, unless you were in NYC, it was near impossible to get into NYC that week. This week isn't much easier considering how much trouble any working in NYC is having getting in. And despite all of this, BOM still was at full capacity(102.6%) somehow.

Obviously not good, but I was worried that it would be even worse.

I wonder why Nice Work seems to have been disproportionately affected. Was Matthew Broderick out for part of the week?

>Wow. Everyone dropped from last week.<

Yes... but all shows lost at least one performance to the storm and some more than that. So all grosses are going to be down from the eight performance week, the week before.

Yeah, ik. I can kinda infer that the hurricane is the reason.

And "everyone" means every single one, and that's not true.

I wonder if the Nice Work drop was because people simply assumed Matthew would be out. The two biggest drops were from shows with high-profile names that many people may have prejudicially thought would not brave the weather or harsh times of post-Sandy.

I believe Matthew may have missed at least one performance.

Everyone does not necessarily mean "every single one". It is an indefinite pronoun which means that its antecedent is unknown. So we cannot know what Quiche meant when he said "everyone" is down from last week.

Well, Quiche, that's the problem with indefinite pronouns. We don't know for certain what your intended your antecedent to be. And as another poster pointed out, not EVERYONE was down last week. So when you said EVERYONE was down, it sure seemed like your antecedent was EVERY SINGLE SHOW but we will just never know Them's the breaks when it comes to the cruel world of indefinite pronouns. And yes, some people are "tha" stupid when it comes to indefinite pronouns.

Not to worry -- the commercial productions all have business interruption insurance (which will cover the weekly nut). Not sure about non-profit shows.

The airports were closed part of last week which means the tourist and business traveler driven shows took a big hit.
