Since there's already a post about funny Ave. Q lines, what are some of the funny/moving/best lines from Wicked? I can't wait for the book to come out! Winnie Holzman really did wonders for the show! re: Wicked Lines Posted by broadwaybaby654 2004-07-01 18:28:07.0
I've always loved the line in The Wizard and I where Elphaba says, "I'd be so happy, I could melt". Ironic, huh? re: Wicked Lines Posted by boborunstheshow 2004-07-01 18:28:37.0
"ive had so many friends" re: Wicked Lines Posted by broadwaybaby654 2004-07-01 18:33:21.0
OH, and in What is this feeling?, when Galinda says, "unuuuusually and excedingly pecuuuuuliar and all together quite impooooossible to descriiiiiiibe" and Elphaba says, "blonde!" re: Wicked Lines Posted by WhatDoINeedWithLove? 2004-07-01 18:37:55.0

I don't understand why you can't just teach us history instead of all this harping on the past. re: Wicked Lines Posted by BroadwayGirl107 2004-07-01 18:55:48.0
O yeah and... re: Wicked Lines Posted by boborunstheshow 2004-07-01 18:56:15.0
i think that the reasons a lot of those lines work is because Kristin is a comic genious re: Wicked Lines Posted by boborunstheshow 2004-07-01 18:56:16.0
double posting! i am ashamed... re: Wicked Lines Posted by BroadwayGirl107 2004-07-01 18:59:30.0
The line I posted was hilarious was Laura Bell Bundy said it as well, and she did it completely differently from Kristin. re: Wicked Lines Posted by jonartdesigns 2004-07-01 19:18:34.0

directorkid, the book was written in 1995. re: Wicked Lines Posted by Swankified089 2004-07-02 14:06:48.0
Book is another term for the script, I think. Could be wrong though. re: Wicked Lines Posted by BroadwayGirl107 2004-07-02 14:12:34.0
lol...swankified, i love that line too....I love how Idina changes her voice there and she speaks more like the witch in the movie would have. re: Wicked Lines Posted by DT 2004-07-02 15:42:22.0

Nothing can beat the opening entrance of Kristin Chenoweth. The audience are in such anticipation of this majorly-hyped show and then suddenly, in a matter of seconds, its reputation is confirmed. re: Wicked Lines Posted by tennis85 2004-07-02 18:43:55.0
Broadwaygirl, that is an interesting fact. Thanks! I guess we are both correct :) re: Wicked Lines Posted by FinnFanatic 2004-07-02 19:19:02.0

Um....Elphaba4 get your lines right. No where in wicked do they say that. re: Wicked Lines Posted by Derech2 2005-01-29 16:15:20.0

"You know black is this year's pink!" re: Wicked Lines Posted by oxdreaminxo 2005-01-29 22:55:07.0
Derech2 and Elphaba4- no, MTRBOI24 was right, that's not said, it's "What's in the punch?" "Lemons, melons, and pears." "Oh my!". Sorry- that was bothering me. And this isn't a line, but I just loved it how in Defying Gravity Glinda finds that shawl out of nowhere to give to Elphaba, I just found it funny. I also liked Galinda saying, "It's good to see me, isn't it? No need to answer! That was rhetorical!". Elphaba and her entrance to Shiz, "What? What's everyone looking at? Is there something in my teeth? Is my underskirt showing? Ok, lets get this over with. No, I am not seasick, yes, I was born green, and no, I didn't eat grass as a child." And my favorite was "Let the green girl go!" It's just so funny in the actual play. And yet another non-line, in the cornfield scene when they fight with the broom and wand- it cracks me up. All my other favorites have been said. re: Wicked Lines Posted by panda_chibi 2005-02-09 04:59:17.0
Man I love all of them that have been mentioned. But there are some more I like. One the night I saw it there were a few times where things were meseed up that were totally hilllarious. Like in the scene where Elphaba is talking to Docter Dillamond, the board doesn't latch (so it keeps flipping back to the side with the history notes), and Idina, keeps trying to get it to stay and she says "I can't get this to stay up" 8while laughing* and Dr. Dillamond replies "Just leave it there." It was hillarious. And the part where Elphaba and Glinda start fighting. When Glinda started twirling her wand, Idina started cracking up, causing the others to start laughing, so they couldn't ge out some of there lines for that scene. And Idina was still cracking up when Joey McIntyre (He played fiyero when I saw it) came swinging in on the rope. And you know that scenes s'pose to be all heroic, but it was just so hillarious with her cracking up. |
