Our dance programme would not be complete without a project by Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui. This Belgian dancer and choreographer has been a member of the artistic family at La Monnaie ever since Peter de Caluwe took up his post. Next season we will, with reservation, present Noetic, a production Larbi has made for the GöteborgsOperans Danskompani, in combination with a new choreography for his Eastman company. Noetic explores man’s instinctive need to structure every detail of our existence, and our longing to break free of the rules, through dancer’s movements that are mechanical and automated in appearance. More details of the project, location and dates will follow at a later stage.
