The Way Off Broadway Dinner Theatre has become known for not only its productions of classic Broadway musicals but its part in bringing a number of area and regional premieres to the Frederick stage. As the Frederick-area's only year-round producing professional theatre, Way Off Broadway is always looking for shows to please audiences of all ages. With that in mind, the theatre's producers have announced Way Off Broadway's 2017 Mainstage Season.

The season will begin in January with Gilbert and Sullivan's most popular comic operetta The Pirates of Penzance. The hilarious pirate adventure will be followed in the spring by the regional premiere of the spectacular high-flying family musical adventure Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. For the summer, audiences will be saying, "Goodbye gray skies, hello blue," when the Cunninghams, everyone's favorite 1950s television family, come to life on stage in Happy Days - The Musical. The fall will bring a blockbuster musical based on a box office Heavenly hit comedy from 1992. The season will conclude with an original holiday production of Christmas Cottage.

"The 2017 Season is all about fun and laughs," says Bill Kiska, Way Off Broadway's Executive Producer and CEO. "We're all looking forward to 2017 because there are years when you have a good season, and then there are years when you have a great season. The 2017 Mainstage Season is a great season."

Mainstage performances are every Friday and Saturday evening, with matinees on the 1st, 3rd, and 5th Sunday of each month. For the evening performances, doors open for dinner at 6:00 p.m. with the show beginning at 8:00 p.m. For the Sunday matinees, doors open at 12:30 p.m. with the show beginning at 2:15 p.m. Season tickets for 2017 are now on sale and can be purchased by visiting the theatre or calling the Box Office at 301.662.6600.
