The Way Off Broadway Dinner Theatre & Children's Theatre is kicking off its holiday season with a live stage production of A Charlie Brown Christmas. The special holiday Dessert Theatre presentation will have an extremely limited run of three performances only beginning on November 13th and running through November 15th.

The classic animated television special, A Charlie Brown Christmas comes to life in this stage adaptation where Charlie Brown, Snoopy, and the other Peanuts grapple with the real meaning of Christmas.

When Charlie Brown complains about the overwhelming materialism he sees among everyone during the Christmas season, Lucy suggests that he become director of the school Christmas pageant. Charlie Brown accepts, but this proves to be a frustrating endeavor. When an attempt to restore the proper holiday spirit with a forlorn little Christmas fir tree fails, he needs Linus' help to learn what the real meaning of Christmas is.

A Charlie Brown Christmas was first shown as an animated television special in 1965 and has been part of the holiday tradition ever since, airing every year during the Christmas season.

A Charlie Brown Christmas was written by and based on characters created by Charles M. Schulz, and is based on the television special by Bill Melendez and Lee Mendelson. It was adapted for the stage by Eric Schaeffer. Way Off Broadway's production is directed by the theatre's Executive Producer, Bill Kiska.

As with all of Way Off Broadway's productions, the servers for the event are cast members from the show. A Charlie Brown Christmas is special in the fact it is not part of the theatre's Mainstage or Children's Theatre seasons, but a special Dessert Theatre production. Instead of full means accompanying each performance, guests will have their choice of desserts.
