Mario Correa came to the United States from his native Chile at age 6 and worked for a number of years in politics before becoming a writer and broadcaster. His hit play Tail! Spin!, directed by Tony nominee Dan Knechtges and starring Saturday Night Live vet Rachel Dratch, had a recent off-Broadway production at New York City's Lynn Redgrave Theater. A New York Times Critics' Pick, Tail! Spin! earned strong notices and a GLAAD Media Awards nomination for Outstanding New York Theater (Off-Off Broadway).

Mario's most recent play, Commander, was Runner-Up for the 2014 National Latino Playwriting Award and a semi-finalist for the Eugene O'Neill Theater Center's National Playwrights Conference. Mario has also written for television and documentary film and is the co-host of Entertainment Weekly magazine's daily News & Notes program on SiriusXM Radio.

The Baltimore Playwrights Festival is in its 34th season and has presented over 250 productions by 160 playwrights at 20 different theaters. This season we are presenting three new plays July through August. Further information can be found at www.baltplayfest.org.
