What do a boy who never grows up, a pirate, and a fairy all have in common? They are three of the most memorable and beloved characters of all time . . . and they are coming to the Children's Theatre at Way Off Broadway. This spring, Peter Pan, Captain Hook, and Tinkerbell will all be live on stage in Way Off Broadway's area premiere production of Disney's Peter Pan Jr. which will appear at the theatre from today, April 26 - July 27, 2014.

Wendy Darling loves to tell stories to her brothers, Michael and John. But when her father announces she must move out of the nursery, Peter Pan comes to visit the children and whisks them away to Never Land. Their adventure introduces them to the Lost Boys, Mermaids, Indians and even the infamous pirate, Captain Hook!

Based on the Disney film and J.M. Barrie's enchanting play, Disney's Peter Pan Jr. is a modern version of the timeless tale about a boy who wouldn't grow up with no flying required! The score includes new arrangements of classic Disney songs, such as "Following the Leader," "You Can Fly," "The Second Star to the Right" and "Yo Ho, A Pirate's Life for Me."

"We are thrilled to be able to be the first theatre in the area to produce Disney's Peter Pan Jr.," said Kiska. "While we were all looking forward to How I Became a Pirate, when Peter Pan became available, there was no question we wanted to include the show in this year's line-up. Whether with our Mainstage or Children's Theatre, we are always proud to bring premieres to the Frederick stage."

Disney's Peter Pan Jr. is based on the play by J.M. Barrie and the 1953 Disney film and has music and lyrics by Sammy Cahn, Sammy Fain, Michael Tumes, Xavier Atencio, George Bruns, Jack Lawrence, Frank Churchill, Winston Hibler, Ted Sears, Oliver Wallace, and Ray Kelley and a book and additional lyrics by David Zellnik. Way Off Broadway's production is directed and staged by the theatre's Creative Director, Jordan B. Stocksdale.

Children's Theatre performances are every Saturday afternoon and the 2nd and 4th Sunday of each month, as well as select added weekday performances throughout the year. Tickets are $17 per person with birthday party packages also available.
