Rapid Lemon Productions presents the workshop production of MARVIN'S TRIAL by Max Garner – directed by CJay Philip – for two shows only, December 15th and 16th, 2012 at the Maryland Institute College of Art, Gateway Building, 1601 Mount Royal Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21217. Performances will be at 8:00 pm on Saturday, December 15th, and at 2:00 pm on Sunday, December 16th.

MARVIN'S TRIAL is being workshopped in preparation for its world premiere in summer, 2013 as part of the annual DC Black Theatre Festival.

MARVIN'S TRIAL is a new stage fiction by Max Garner, author of Sphere: The Thelonious Monk Story. It is an expansive and poetic exploration of the celebrated life and tragic death of Motown superstar Marvin Gaye, who was shot and killed by his father in 1984. This story reaches across the world and spans half a century, revealing a complex portrait of a man who had many difficult relationships – with family, with music, and with himself.

Tickets are $15, available online at www.brownpapertickets.com/event/258248

Funding for the workshop production is being sought through a Kickstarter campaign, whose goal is to raise $2,900 by November 30th.
