Prince George's Little Theatre to Produce the Area Premiere of Sean Grennan's THE TIN WOMAN

Prince George's Little Theatre will produce the area premiere of Sean Grennan's "The Tin Woman" at the Bowie Playhouse from January 13 - 28. All Friday performances and Saturday performances January 13 and 21 are at 8 pm.
The Sunday performances January 15 and 22 and the closing performance Saturday January 28 are 2 pm matinees. The play is directed by Estelle Miller and produced by Roy Peterson.
Based on a true story about a heart-transplant recipient and her meeting with the family of the heart's donor, the play balances comedy and drama as it focuses on the growth of each character. This is a play about family love, and despite its treatment of a serious subject, it has fully as much laughter as tears. It oscillates back and forth in time in the lives of Joy, the transplant recipient (played by Zarah Rautell), and Jack, the donor (played by Carlo Olivi) as well as in the lives of his family. Joy tries to handle her survivor's guilt with wry sarcasm and humor, but after the surgery she finds little pleasure in a life that is built on the death of another. Her best friend Darla (Brawnlyn Patterson) convinces her to meet with Jack's family, bringing in the key second thread of the play. Jack's mother Alice (Barbara Webber), father Hank (Jim Estepp) and sister Sammy (Jenn Robinson) are dealing with their loss in very different ways, and their journeys are fully as important as Joy's. Perhaps the most surprising part of the play is the essential role played by Jack as we see his past relationships with his family and his influence on the play's other characters.
All performances take place at the Bowie Playhouse, 16500 White Marsh Drive, Bowie, Maryland.
