Opening Night of ParityFest Baltimore 2015 will be tonight, July 1, 2015 at 7:30pm at Theatre Project with a reading produced by Cohesion Theatre Company and directed by Brad Norris. Following the performance there will be an opening night party with food and beverages from festival sponsors Union Craft Brewing and Charm City Meadworks.

Tickets for the opening night, and all festival readings are pay-what-you-can at the door, with all proceeds benefiting the artists and theatre companies involved.

Cohesion Theatre Company is thrilled to announce ParityFest Baltimore 2015, a city-wide readings festival aimed at increasing parity in the arts! In 2014, the Kilroys, an LA-based group committed to gender parity in the arts, released The List, a compilation of the most recommended new and under-produced plays written by female playwrights. Now The Kilroys have released the 2015 List, updated with all new plays and playwrights. Cohesion, working with The Kilroys and Baltimore area theatre companies, envisions a festival of readings of all of the 2015 plays over the course of six weeks, which will be complemented by workshops on gender issues and discussions with playwrights, actors, directors, designers, and cultural leaders.

Cohesion feels that Baltimore, with its well established theatrical institutions, and its thriving DIY Theatre scene is precisely the kind of groundbreaking arts city that a festival like this could thrive in. We are also excited at the prospect of Baltimore's theatrical community coming together in this groundbreaking way. Cohesion has been reaching out to theater companies in the community, and many have signed on to participate in the festival.

ParityFest Baltimore 2015 will run Wednesdays-Sundays July 1-August 9. Some days will have readings by more than one theater company. For more information about the full schedule of readings, visitwww.cohesiontheatre.org/parityfest.
