The Daily Record has named Olney Theatre Center's Managing Director, Amy Marshall, as one of the 2013 Maryland's Most Admired CEOs. The Daily Record created Maryland's Most Admired CEOs List in 2012 to recognize men and women who have excelled professionally and in serving their communities.

The winners were selected based on several criteria: leadership and vision; competitiveness and innovation; community leadership and service; financial performance and growth; corporate leadership; and board service and nonprofit involvement.

A group of nine judges, including eight who received the 2012 Maryland's Most Admired CEO honor, selected the 2013 Maryland's Most Admired CEOs list.

"I am extremely honored to be selected as one of The Daily Record's 2013 Maryland's Most Admired CEOs," Ms. Marshall said. "What I do is only possible because I am surrounded by great and talented people."

Ms. Marshall came to Olney Theatre Center in 2007 following a career with the Milwaukee Ballet Company and the Florentine Opera Company. During her time with the organization she had doubled contributed income by widely expanding the theatre's donor base. Under Ms. Marshall's leadership Olney Theatre Center presented The Sound of Music, the bestselling show in the organization's 75-year history.

"Ms. Marshall is singularly responsible for Olney Theatre's growth and for literally causing Olney Theatre to rise to profitability," said Jennifer L. Kneeland, Olney Theatre Center board president.

Now, with the help of her new artistic director, Jason Loewith, Ms. Marshall is working to develop a five-year strategic plan to help the center become stronger each year, while also offering diverse programming.
