Mobtown Theater Presents COME OUT AND SAY IT, 7/13-28

Vale's day just got complicated. As he deals with the aftermath of a heist gone wrong, he sees his plans-and his life-fall apart before his eyes. In the new comic thriller Come Out and Say It, forgiveness is never quite as simple as it seems.

The show runs run July 13 through 28 at The Mobtown Theater in Hampden. Performances are Fridays and Saturdays at 8 P.M., with one matinee on Sunday, July 15 at 4 pm. Tickets are $15 general admission and $12 for students and seniors.

Come Out and Say It, by Laurel resident Erica Smith, is the culmination of the Mobtown Playwrights Group (MPG) 2011-2012 season. Each fall, MPG selects three area playwrights to receive staged readings of a play they are in the process of developing. The readings give the writers a chance to hear their scripts performed and workshop the plays based on audience feedback. The following summer, one of the three is selected to receive a full production at the Mobtown Theater.

Smith earned a B.A. in theater from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. Her one-act plays about robots, sex, and the end of the world (though not all at the same time) have been performed at the Laurel Mill Playhouse, Greenbelt Arts Center, and the Vagabond Theater in Fells Point.

Tickets are available at the door or online at www.brownpapertickets.com. For more information about the show or the Mobtown Playwrights Group, visit www.mobtownplayers.net.
